Equinox(Overture For Band) by Ed Huckeby "Solid, creative writing makes this a terrific choice for concert or contest for mid-level bands! The andante introduction drives straight into an animated allegro, punctuated by heart-stirring rhythms. Excellent teaching material for developing musicianship in your younger players. You'll be glad you looked at this one! Well done!" (adapted from http://www.jwpepper.com) My View On This Piece: Beautiful. Simply Beautiful. It's main melody by the alto saxes and trumpet. Trombone, bassoon, euphonium and the tuba provides an impressive rythem which suits the allegro con moto perfectly. i being a euphonium player found that the second mood of the piece had an extremely beautiful euphonium background melody. Overall its a simple piece which packs a huge Punch. |
