use more air lor.. but rmb don blast.. must expand the sound instead.. push the sound forward towards the audience.. the key to the loudness of the sound is projection..
 another point to ponder.. its all in the mind bah.. think abt the note and how loud u want it to be.. then keep thinking bout it and let it remain in your head.. then just play as usual.. my fren has this problem of using his inner lip to play the trumpet.. resulting all the notes played to be VERY accented.. like as if he is punching every note he plays.. so my conductor asked him to think as if the sound was coming from 10 meters behind him.. it was quite ridiculous to believe it would work at first.. but it worked(miraculously).. haha.. so yeah.. it's all in the mind.. i suggest this to be used by the more advanced players to make the tone, pitch and projection of the sound better.. good luck!  (p.s. this may be alienic to most ppl.. lol.. but it took me a long time to understand this too..) |
