Member Posts: 258 Group: New Member Member #125 Joined: March 14, 2009	Based on the graphic novel of the same name, this movie follows a young girl's life as she struggles to grow up while surrounded by the calamity and chaos of the Iranian Revolution. Islamic Fundamentalists eventually come into control of the government and bring with them their oppression of women; forcing them to dress modestly and essentially become secondary-citizens. The main character, however, is something of a rebel, and goes the extra mile to give her government the middle-finger salute. She buys American music off of the black market (Abba, I believe), wears a denim jacket, and attends secret parties with friends and family :3 (you go, girl!). Another of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it

Member Posts: 258 Group: New Member Member #125 Joined: March 14, 2009	I think it was a mid-2008 release, but I can't quite remember xD It wasn't really advertised or touted by anyone in particular; it was kind of an underground hit I guess. I still loved it :3
