Membership in Aquila: Identified by Aquila ID Sign on at least 2 times a week Respond to topics requesting your response Sign up for and complete game activities Participate in discussions Follow the rules of the site Be in good standing with the wing Membership in Aquila requires a minimum level of activity on the site. An Aquila member is designated by an Aquila ID such as Yellow 13 or Blue 02. For those who are general members, the expectation is that you will log in at least a couple times a week. More is better. You have to interact with the community by posting and playing whatever video games we do as a wing. It is expected that members will respond to a call for input whether it be a regular thread or poll. Members have the opportunity to play on either the PS2 or the XBOX platform, or both if they are fortunate enough to have that option. In order to keep people at the top of their game, I will require you to focus on one particular platform and game type. You can play any of them and if you can be an ace in all of them all the better for us. I will expect you to be available for the type you choose and to maintain proficiency in it. The games we officially play are: PS2 Ace Combat 4, 5, 0 XBOX Ace Combat 6, CoD4 We can play others, but not at the expense of our core games. I want to see competitive teams for these. Awards and promotions will be scheduled every 3 months. Whether we hold a ceremony is based on whether there is anyone to promote. Reviews will be done in a timely manner so that we can get the presentation together. Warrant officers are eligible every cycle while commission type ranks will be no sooner than every 6 months. There can be exceptions to that rule so each nomination for promotion/award will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. All supportive evidence will be considered. Things that work in a members favor is attendance, good standing in the wing and participation in challenges, competitions and wars. Awards can be positions, commendations and/or ribbons where promotions are an increase in rank. Demotions can occur as part of action against a member. This is generally something that is in response to a major infraction of the rules. Those are dealt with on a case-by-case basis and the ruling is posted with all the supporting evidence in the Personnel Actions area. Competitions, challenges, tournaments and wars are what we are here for. All our practicing and tips topics center on helping us win. We believe in being good sports, but that does not mean we make it easy for our competitors. Win, lose or draw you score promotion points as long as you do your very best. You are expected to play well, turn in all the proper documentation on time if you are playing offline and you are expected to show up on time if you are playing online. Every team should have at least one alternate. People can loose connections to the next and miss a due time or in the case of online play, connection lag can severely handicap a player to the point you may want to replace them. Team leads should be prepared to ensure we can complete the mission. No matter which team you are on, when a practice is called for your team, you are expected to show up for it unless you have made prior contact with the organizer and been excused. The expectation is you are here to play. You lose promotion points if stand your team up. I understand that sometimes things happen, but those “things” are rare. For the most part, you should know with plenty of time to shoot a PM or email to the organizer and give them a heads up on your situation. Team leaders can institute a proficiency testing program in order to decide how to use the team members. This will be up to the team leader. The team leader can pass on the information to the squadron commander to be used as supporting documentation for a promotion or award. Special requirements: Those members who take on leadership positions will be required to log on daily. Many positions have a deputy or helper position who can share the responsibility of the position. When you can not be present, you can delegate authority to your helper to ensure your job gets done. This must be done in a post where you state that you are giving the authority over to this person or in an email/PM to the next person in your chain of command (CoC). If you do not delegate, you own the responsibility for getting it done yourself. Your place in the position and your future promotions are affected by how well you do your job. I know this isn’t real life and things happen. So, if you know you won’t be around let your CoC know and delegate your position while you are away. If you decide to step down and you’ve got a Gmail address from me for your position, I expect you to set the password to something I know so that I can pass it on to the next person when you step down. Please be courteous and do so. You will also have access to areas general members do not. You are not to repeat what you see or hear in there unless you have been authorized to do so. Actions will be taken against you if you leak info. You are expected to keep passwords and posts in confidence. Resignations: Any member can choose to resign. To do so, they post their resignation on the resignation thread in the Personnel Actions area. They can request a guest status on the site. Whether or not that request is granted is at the discretion of command. If there is concern over site security or if the member has done something illegal or if they are not in good standing in the wing; command can choose to immediately terminate any account. The member can send supporting evidence to the commander if they want to have their account reinstated. However, doing so does not guarantee anything. The commander has the right to deny re-admittance. Applying after a resignation: Previously, Aquila had a ‘no return’ policy. Currently, however, those who left in good standing can reapply by contacting the commander. The commander will then advise the former member what steps should be taken to complete the application process. It is worth noting that it is customary for a member to return at least one rank below what they were when they left. The actual rank they receive upon their return will be determined by their previous rank, any position they are being considered for, and their game skill. The final rank and position will be decided by the squadron commander and approved by the wing commander. Re-admittance is not guaranteed, no matter what the situation was when the member left. The wing commander has the final say. The wing commander will also notify the member when they will be eligible for promotion. This does not guarantee a promotion at that time, only that they can be nominated for a promotion at that time. Visitor status – do not have Aquila IDs: I have a few levels of visitors for this site. The first is VIP. These folks are here for a purpose. They either advise command or have an ambassador level relationship to Aquila. Some of these accounts are temporary, like during a war we may have an alliance member here to advise us. Others may be long term, such as Yellow E who is a friend to command and has a special status here among us. They have various clearance levels based on their purpose here with us. Next, I have alumni. They are former Aquila who have reached a point in there life where they do not have the time to commit but wish to stay in touch. They are good friends who are in good standing when they resign. The alumni status is one granted by command and will be considered in a case-by-case basis. They have read/write access to all the guest areas and some (but not all) of our member areas. Other account types are guest and recruit. These are folks have restricted access to guest areas which may include a few more areas than guests who do not register. Their posting and PM restrictions are based on whether they are guests or recruits. They will not have access to password protected areas. Do not share any passwords with them. If they ask, forward their request to the next person in your CoC. Member changes: If a member goes inactive their status will change. The decision to change a member’s status lies with the wing commander. While the command team can submit evidence and discuss the situation, the commander has the final decision. The guidelines are as follows: If a member does not show up after 2 weeks without contacting their CoC, they will be changed to alumni status. Admin will send an email to the address on their account notifying them of the change. If they are absent for two months, their username is changed from the Aquila ID to their call sign. Admin will send a message at the time this occurs to the email address associated with the account. If they are absent for 6 months, their status is changed to guest and they no longer have access to password protected forums. Admin will send a message at the time this occurs to the email address associated with the account. After a year of inactivity, the wing commander can choose to delete any account. Final note: The decision to allow someone to be a registered member of this site is at the sole discretion of the administration of this site. All members are members at will. This means that any member can be terminated at any time should the administration deem it necessary. The administration can also suspend or ban any registered member as they see fit. Accepting membership to this site means you also accept these terms. |
