I put up some of my favourites... I excluded Blurry because it's not the actual game music. |

Sea of Chaos (radio version) Why? It's the only song on the whole AC5 OST (first run through of the game) that made me go "wow..." Has a late 20's feeling (probably why the level starts off at 1922ft) |

I would pick 'Razgriz' by the Warsaw Philharmonic, off the OST. It has the feel of an opening theme, and would fit the movie to be made from my novel, "Aces", now in production. Of your choices, I'd say my favorite, although short, is 'Lit Fuse'. The horns put one in mind of 'the hunt', while the strings evoke the epic sword and shield battles of medieval days. Very heroic..... 'The Journey Begins' is a very deep song that fits amazingly well with this game.....I'd guess that it was written for it by someone who really understood what the story was about, and not just throwing a fast beat and guitar riffs out for a cheesy background, like so many videogames do...... If you haven't noticed, 'Free Flight', which is the music that went with the demo routine in Journey Home, is quite right for it's use, and 'Into The Dusk', which happens after a member dies, (gotta remember spoilers!) is one of my top 10. I note that a lot of the musical pieces in this game share a common theme, that of 'The Unsung War'. You see this happen when Wardog becomes Razgriz, in the game, and the briefing music changes to this style, also. (Actually, you hear it in 'Into The Dusk' first of all....) B) |

Into the Dusk is probably my second favorite on this soundtrack. Though I would love to hear a more orchestra-version of it.. Like the in-game version of Sea of Chaos, you later hear it again but as "Journey Home", that really powerful, clean version? Imagine 'Into the Dusk' with like a 2-3x larger scale? |

OK, Journey home does it for me, but that was a hard one to make. Sea of chaos has a nice feeling about it, but journey home's guitar did it for me when I was dogfighting against multiple enemies, I just thought "It's time to get mad!...". The piano piece is nice aswel after chopper dies. But....being a guitar freak, AC05 Arcade stuff is cool as chips. |

I'll go to the trouble of disagreeing with you on this one, Eric. For it's purpose, as I felt it.....that of 'Farewell to a Hero', I don't know what could've been better. The first rendition in the game of the theme brought to full fruition in 'The Unsung War' put me in mind of the funeral of J.F.K. (Yes, I'm that old  ) From the initial 21-gun salute, to the clear piano solo.....all is in silence, broken only by the creaks and movement of the caisson, and the slow, rhythmic beat of horse's hooves. The echoes of a fallen leader. You feel the utter silence from the spectators. The sorrow, the pain......the loss. The long-held strings, matching the long-held salutes of a nation in mourning. A flight of military jets streak overhead, one pulling steeply into the sky, in the famous 'missing man' formation...... The cortege has passed, now, and the spectators, still in silence, move out into the street, to follow their hero to his final resting place....... :( |

To be honest, between AC4-AC5, I still think Shattered Skies has the best soundtrack. Blockade, Stongehenge, Megalith, and especially Rex Tremendae are still my favorites. |

The arcade mode music, any of the rock from there. I much prefer our theme song in ac4, and of course joe satriani in air combat |

Yeah it was a thread called "Words up" I think... somewhere around sqd discussions, maybe... I'm listening to "The Journey Home"'s orchestra version (the one without the lyrics) and it's VERY NICE. |
