It is very simple to create and add skins, just concentrate:

Creating a Skin

First (The Site):

Go to IFSZ and click 'Website'. On the left side bar there will be four Skin Generators. If you are a beginner I highly recommend the Simple Skin Generator or the AIO Skin Generator Lite.

Second (The Skin Generators):

Using the Simple Skin Generator:

Using the Simple Skin Generator is of course, simple. You will need to fill all the empty spaces up with hex codes.

What are 'Hex Codes'?

Hex Codes are numbers with number signs in front of them (#). They usually have six digits after them. So instead of using the color you type in hex codes. For Example: Black's hex code is #000000.

Back to the Simple Skin Generator:

This is the easiest generator to get hex codes in. On your right there will be a bar that has the color white. Choose the color you want from there and then click the button next to it that says: Convert to RBG/Hex. It will give you your hex code in the bar under the section where you choose your color. When you type your hex code in DO NOT TYPE # BEFORE IT. The reason is because it has already done that for you and then your skin won't be right when you install it. Then click submit at the bottom of the screen and DO NOT X IT OUT because your code will be there.

Using the AIO Skin Generator Lite:

This is as simple as the Simple Skin Generator. There are two differences though:

  • It has nothing to give the information for hex codes
  • It actually shows you your skin
To get your hex codes open the same web site on another window and select Color Chooser. All that does is gives you hex codes. After you have filled in the hex codes click Preview Style Sheet. Scroll down to see your skin. If you like it your Style Sheet will be all the way at the bottom and again DO NOT X THE PAGE OUT.

Using the Premium Skin Generator:

This skin generator is for more advanced users. You will also have to get hex codes from another window if you use this generator. You will have to fill in extra hex codes here. You will also have to fill in the px.

What is 'Px'?

The px is simply the size of the text. Just fill the blank spaces with numbers and that will be the size. It also stands for pixels.

Back to the Premium Skin Generator:

And you will also have to fill in URLs. For example, the background URL would be http://sx.invisionfree.com/Your_Board/Background/index.php?. For the Rows it would be http://sx.invisionfree.com/Row_1/index.php? and then Row_2 etc. You always put a _ between seperate words instead of a space because URLs can't have spaces. If your board has a different domain than sx.invisionfree.com then this is how you'd do it: http://Your_Board/Background/index.php?. Again, DO NOT X OUT THE PAGE.

Using the AIO Skin Generator:

The AIO Skin Generator is the same as the Premium Skin Generator except it will preview your skin after you click Preveiw Skin and it will be just like the AIO Skin Generator Lite with the preview. You will have to get hex codes from another window again. And the last time, DO NOT X IT OUT.

Third (Installing):

Keep your skin code open (the page that contains it open). Go to your web site. Open your Admin CP> Skinning and Styles> Manage Style Sheets. Delete the skin code in the box and open the page with your skin code. Highlight it, right click and select copy, go to Manage Style Sheets in your Admin CP, and right click and select paste. Click Edit CSS and when it is edited close your Admin CP and then X out your web site. Then open your site up again and voila, your skin is changed.
