I had an interesting "Hope-pening" today. Though for a change of pace, I present it in on site audio form:

http://audioboo.fm/boos/117732-video-games-through-time

I'm so old I didn't even know what "K-A" stood for. Ratings? On video games?

....today we were watching a video about North Korea, and half of the kids were laughing their heads off. Grah. Anger :grumpfaith:

@Amberbydreams: What was the video documenting exactly?

I'm so old, when I was in elementary school we didn't have videos. Actually, around 6th grade the school got a VCR (yes, that's right, *one* of them, we had to share).

Oh man, I remember in 4th and 5th grade the schools would show us videos on laserdiscs.

Remember that failure of a format?

Gaze your eyes on my VCR and Boombox! :happyhope:
Normally the Xbox would be next to them to make them feel old, but its currently downstairs.

I remember those! My aunt had quite a collection, focusing largely on Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood stuff IIRC :D

Speaking of failed formats: would you guys believe I have a Sony Mini-disc stereo and Walkman?

Seriously. What a waste of money THAT turned out to be.

@Starlogic: And there's a N64 too! That makes it all the more awesome :happyhope:

@Alphatroll: I wonder if said collection would be worth a lot of money, considering how rare those things became.

Though it they became rare because nobody wanted 'em, so I don't know :P

@Kyler Thatch: Hold that thought until we find out about the worth

I have this little electric fan pointed at my face because I'm drying my hair. There's another larger fan behind me that is currently switched off. The blades of the larger fan are spinning in reverse (obviously because of the air current generated by the smaller fan).

Apparently this as meant to be one of my sillier moments, because I suddenly started cheering on the smaller fan. "Yeah! Take that! Who's the 'industrial' one now?!"

Is that a N64 I spy? Does it still work? That was the first (and last) console I bought. ...still play it!

Silly ole bear got my bird feeder this morning... again. I'm running out of glue and pieces to glue back together. *sigh* Guess I may have to retire the ole gal and purchase a new feeder.

Distract it with a pic-ah-nick basket? :hope:

.....sorry, I'll do it to myself for that awful one.

Joking aside, good luck with that though.

@alphatroll: Nice! I bet those originals will be quite spiffy looking.

@Kyler Thatch: Boy, that blows.

*sigh*, ok, again.

That must be one strong fan for its size then

Yakked with some o' me bestest BGN buddies on ye olde telephonic device for the first time yesterday, had a grand ol' time! Including discussions of the sort that would probably embarrass Jhonen Vasquez, involving translating Verne's Around the World in 80 Days into modern terms and other such existential horrors. I had to recommend this HYAR forum for more of that lovely meta-hyper-philosophical banter ;)

We had a company meeting at Passion Studios today. I actually rather like our meetings. It's fun for me to get everyone together and toss ideas around at how to improve our end product and what to do to stay ahead of the game. Of course, talking about the less than fun business side of things is unavoidable. Still, I kick such a kick out of being my team's "fearless leader" ^_^

One of the topics discussed was instituting a "Casual Friday" policy. We then realized that was kind of a moot point

Oh hey, forgot to mention.... the ol' Troll household increased by one.

His mom was a singleton too. Not sure what his name'll be; I figure I'll need to wait at least 'til his eyes open to know.

(one does not name a cat, after all; one can only *discover* the cat's name.) ;)

Since he was born during that ferocious last few days of the Zuda competition, I'm thinking something ELDRITCH!-related may be appropriate (though he really doesn't quite strike me as an "Owen"). On the other hand, his mother's name is Teeny, and as "Teeny's son" it's possible the only appropriate name might be Alfred.

Faith is a good name *whistles innocently*

Oh, it's a boy? Damn <_< Well, Faith could be a boy's name! ......couldn't it?

Annnnnyway, I think an ELDRITCH name would be quite fitting indeed! Do let us know what you end up going with :)

You could always call him "Alfred Lord, Teeny's son"... *dodges to avoid thrown brick*

BTW, Here's a pic of what I got with my birthday bucks:

It's a 1/350th scale model of the Japanese WWII Battleship Kongo by Fujimi Models. It's quite possibly one of the best ship kits I've ever seen. I think that only the Hasegawa Nagato:

in the same scale is a better kit because it has extra detailing parts (ammo bins and such) that can be used to make the ship look "busy" rather than static. I can't wait to build 'em! ^_^
