Is this a new trend I'm not aware of? I've never heard of people putting chandeliers in their bedrooms. I suppose it does add to the allure of the room, unless it was too gaudy.

After all the falling chandeliers I've seen in fiction? None for me, thanks.

That's EXACTLY why I don't have a ceiling fan in my bedroom, unlike the other bedroom in the house.

I may be paranoid, but.... :grumpfaith:

That's very cool. It's always so enriching to go to a place surrounded by like-minded people, isn't it? Your batteries get charged right up from the inspiration. I know that's how I felt coming back from Webcomics Weekend 2009.

Anyway, wow, sounds like you made out like a bandit  Free inspiration and free food. Who could ask for more?!

I hope you have some to share with everybody  :hope:

It really is. Humans are social animals; hearing someone respond to your ideas like that, or expressing similar notions, makes it easier to keep on track. And it's great for wannabe researchers like me to get to talk to the veterans. Not only is it inspiring, but you get reminded of the paths you can take and what you need to consider to get there, too.
Oh yeah, that night was a jackpot in so many ways. (I learned more over dinner than at the seminars!)

I shared some pie bits with my neighbor when she came over the day after
All gone now, it did last 3 months though ;) Yummy potatoes... Between that and my stash of smoked salmon, I could cook dinner in 15 minutes when I needed. B)

Oh, and second KT's opinion on chandeliers. I've watched too many movies to want something like that dangling over my head. <_<

re chandeliers: Four words; War of the Roses.
What would really add some class to a place would be a stained-glass ceiling. Then you get up to all sorts of Susperia-styled mischief.

Humans are social animals

We REALLY are. Even those of us who don't think they are are really just kidding themselves. Look at all the geeks out there who would say "I'm so antisocial," then they log into Twitter, Facebook, forums, etc.

I'm just sayin' B)

I do recall hearing a quote once that went something like "man was not meant to be alone."

Never ask your friends to come over and "hang out" if you get one of those.

So , interesting discovery today. We had our office brithday party last week, and someone brought in meatballs in a crock-pot, but for some reason just left it in the break room, with meatballs still inside.............unplugged.............for a week.

Upon inspection today, they were covered with grey hair :yankhope: It was fascinating and gross at the same time.

One was so furry it looked like a mouse had crawled inside

This has been your weekly gross-out moment.

 Ironically, skinny dipping used to be *required* at YMCA pools. (See paragraph 6 in "History".)

Amazing how in-depth they got on a simple subject of "skinny dipping."

I honestly had no idea about that regarding the YMCA and some former school swimming classes. That's pretty interesting. My how times have changed!

Only 25% of Americans have been skinny dipping in their life? Geez, what's with all the prudes? :P

Here's my interesting happening for the day: My iMac has arrived :hope:

I spent the majority of today getting my new baby set up. I was either cleaning up my computer desk, resorting things, unhooking the old PC, hooking up the iMac, getting everything set up and all the programs I needed installed, etc. I do hope this large chunk of time doesn't put me behind on AIAC.

Well so far I'm pretty impressed with the iMac. I adore the wireless keyboard! It's so small, and so quiet when I type. The "magic mouse" is pretty darn nifty too. I love scrolling by just gliding my fingers across the flat surface. As for the computer itself: I'm currently in that awkward initia stage of feeling both wowed by the new technology in front of me, yet also frustrated when I can't figure out how to do simple things (I guess that comes with being a PC user all my life). I definitely get the sense that once I feel more at home with it, I'm going to like it a lot more than the PC. There's already a lot of qualities where that's the case.

I ALMOST didn't get my scanner working right with it though, which scared me to death, for obvious reasons ;) Thankfully it's up and running now though.

Viva la Mac!

I think I've only ever been skinny dipping once... in 1995... in London... in the fountains at Trafalgar Square... during the heat wave. I was only 9 years old though and everyone else was doing it.

Then again I'm not in the 25% any way... being English and all.

Everyone was doing it?............are public nudity laws more relaxed in England and I'm not aware of it? Heck, even at 9 years old, that would be pretty frowned upon here.

I wonder how all those people just up and decided to bare all in a fountain.......?

Anyway, I DO fall into the 25% because I a American, and I have a few times. Mostly in relatives pools when they weren't home.

There WAS one time at a beach though. It was late afternoon and there weren't many people on the beach. So depending on how far down the stretch of beach you wee, there might not be anyone nearby. I had my bathing suit in hand though, in case anyone else got too close and so I could emerge safely.

Look, I'm not a nudist or anything, but there's something invigorating and freeing doing that at a place like a beach. As Hope would say, you feel one with nature :hope:

OK, everyone, that's it, your turns to fess up ;) :P

Well, most of the other people at least had underwear on... and it was pretty much simply due to the heat. For the record I had been fully dressed, until my clothes were soaked... which due to the heat were remarkably dry seconds later when left in the sun.

I'm also pretty sure that its frowned upon to swim/paddle in the fountains there any way- in the same way that its technically against the law to climb on the lion statues there.

Ah, I see. Well, either way, fun times :hope:

Whoa whoa whoa, you CANNOT have big ol' lion statues and not let people climb on them! that's a crime against all things fun! Hope would not be happy about that.....I'm sure she'd try to do it anyway though.

It got up over 60˚ yesterday so I was able to wear my Summer clothes. (It was nice to be able to wear sandals again! :konahope: ) Hopefully it'll be just as warm today and tomorrow. :faith:

Ooo, the 60's huh? I'm jealous! It hasn't gotten quite that high here yet, but it has been warming up a bit.

Enough to the point that I can stat going for walks again. Between work and my comic, I leave a pretty "sitting in front of the computer" heavy life, so I make it a point to get some exercise in too. During the winter I settle for doing some exercise videos and lifting weights. Weights are new for me, and I enjoy them, but I HATE being stuck doing those videos. I'd much rather go out for a walk. The fresh air is good and it allows me to clear my head from a long day of work and prep my mind to get into comic mode. I can also be alone with my thoughts and plan ideas/ stories.

So I'm glad that time is coming round again :hope:

At one school I went to, I went through a short phase where I drew mustaches on the pictures of women and girls in my school workbooks. (I never did it in my textbooks, though. At that particular school they were rentals and my mom gave me a portion of the deposit back for turning in a clean book.)
