I'm a huge kinda scary looking guy but I live for cute. :hope: :faith:

Nothing wrong with being a guy and loving cute :happyhope:

That sounds like some awesome stuff there Doc. I'm quite jealous over a couple of things indeed :D Maybe I should go next year...

Anyway, some interesting happenings of my own!

I went to a dentist appointment yesterday for a usual cleaning. Turns out, for the first time since I was born over 26 years ago, I have a cavity. NOOOO!!!! The perfect record is tarnished! In true to my style, I actually have a rare kind of cavity. The tooth itself is actually very strong all around it. The little (and I do mean little) amount of decay is completely on the inside. They told me it's the easiest kind of cavity to take care of since it's right under the top of the tooth. Plus, it's above the nerve endings, so they say I shouldn't feel any pain. Still, because I've never had a cavity (and I'm an utter wuss :P ), I got a little nervous over the idea of shoving a drill in my mouth

Anyway, the appointment to get that done is the end of next month.

Then later that night, I stopped by the AT&T store in the mall to special order an iPhone 4. I've become so very frustrated with how OS4 is running on my 3G, that I figured it was time. I wanted to get one anyway, I just couldn't convince myself I needed it. But, considering how much more space it'll have (32GB over the 8GB I have now), I may be able to make it my main iPod as well (right now I use the iPhone 3G for a phone, internet, and other stuff, then use an iPod Classic for music). I'm quite excited for it :happyhope:

This will be a long 7 to 14 day wait for its arrival.

I'm still very tired after Saturday... but oh god how awesome it was!

I had to wake up at 5:00am & go at 5:30am to make sure we got to Silverstone in good time for everything to start. Everything I knew about F1 took a new spin on itself thanks to this day. I got a walk of the Pit Lane when they were doing the Pit Stop Practices, it was so amazing being somewhere special like that where no normal man can get to. I got some pretty good pictures from it:

Posted Image
Posted Image

This one here is probably my favourite of the day, as I have never been that close to an F1 car before... so exciting!

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

I then went back to the Paddock Club where all the V.I.P. people & people who got invited by teams & companies were. I had a lovely breakfast (after not eating all day) & walked around the area. There was a full working bar, an F1 Wii game, a bar area with sweets & ice cream. Even the toilets were top class, the sinks were having the water run on marble slabs (or what looked like them). At that point, British F1 Legend David Coulthard (who now works for the BBC0 walked into the area & everyone went to get a photo of him. Then something amazing happened, 2-Time World Champion & Ferrari Driver Fernando Alonso came past to talk to the Ferrari Club people. On his way out I got side by side with him for a few seconds, I stepped back to snap a picture. It's not the best I would have got but yeah, I got one:

Posted Image

Being able to stand next to Fernando Alonso, what an honour that is... even though he does look like a sad, grumpy person every time you end up looking at his face.

I went up to see the F1 Practice & got this view of a cornering sector of the track:

Posted Image

Damn good view I say

I then was allowed to go to the Mercedes Pit Lane before Qualifying started, where I got a good photo of 7-Time World Champion Michael Schumacher's car:

Posted Image

At that same moment, David Coulthard & the BBC crew came into the garage to do a vignette for the TV. I stood very close to them, I did take pictures but the shade was causing them not to be seen very well. At least I can say that I've been that close to the BBC Television Crew! It all got topped off by my last photo oppurtunity of the day, a pic of me & my Dad outside the Mercedes Garage:

Posted Image

What a brilliant day that I'll never forget, I now know how vast, big & hard it is for a circuit to host an F1 race but I also know how awesome it is to go round a circuit & have the privileges I had. I'm gonna remember this day for a long time! :happyhope:

Yeah, t'was a good day Tom!

Anyway, last night I went to my favourite football (soccer for you Americans) team, Ipswich Town's Annual Barbeque. As the guest of my Dad, which was nice!

I ate myself stupid as their was a Hog Roast (which I drooled over the minute I went in), & had 3 baps.

I talked to the manager Roy Keane with some friends of my Dad about the last season which didn't go well, the World Cup, the future & this upcoming season. Which was all pretty damn awesome. He even signed the invitation my Dad brought with him for me. I often had this fear of Roy Keane's presence, but after last night & what he said about the team I have confidence this season will be good! I just don't think a lot of fans will agree with me though :sadhope:

So a friend of mine had tickets to see Rodney Carrington live this evening. I was not familiar with his work at all, but I went anyway for the fun of hanging out and all. He actually put on a really good show! I'm not one for country music, but the little he did was comical in nature, so that made it OK. He has a great presence on stage as well. Some jokes definitely had me cracking up.

Before the show we got dinner at this restaurant called Juniors. They're one of those places where you order and sandwich and you get about 10 pounds of meat and two little slivers of bread. Pretty tasty though. But my gosh, the cheesecake there....there was a party in my mouth, everyone was invited, someone spiked the punch, and everyone got laid! So delicious :happyhope:

So yeah, contrary to popular belief, I do get out now and again

I got my iPhone 4 yesterday! :happyhope:

There's a lot of infamy going around about this phone right now, but let me just officially say I LOVE it. They really did improve over the previous models. I'm excited about the HD video camera and the eBook reader. Plus the screen is so incredibly crisp. So much faster too!

Anyway, *thumbs up*

Today was in my opinion, a momentous day regarding my singing progress.

I found out how to manage my breathing & note pitch techniques properly (which had been halting me for a long time). I managed to sing Green Day's Give Me Novocaine in it's entirety after starting to learn it 3 days ago, plus I managed to sing without a break for 45 minutes (which I feel is an accomplishment in itself).

I'm singing Green Day songs to start with mastering my breathing techniques because Billie Joe Armstrong & I share the same vocal range. Which makes it easier for me to learn from.

After I do a few more Green Day songs in my lessons, I'll be switching to the harder more vocally challenging Alter Bridge songs. To really test myself & see how the stuff I learnt on the Green Day songs makes me sing better than before.

Not to downplay the mood or anything, but yeah, about three days ago on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, my employment was terminated by my employer. Seems that, even after everyone where I worked were told that the buyout/merger would not result in layoffs, three weeks after the merger went through I became one of a few people (more terminations are coming next month from what I was told) who had to be cut because the company has to "make cuts" now. Sure shows how well the economy is improving! So yeah, I've had some interesting happenings. I mean, I was depressed up until last weekend, then went to my cousin's wedding that weekend (7/16-18), was feeling good my first day of work after coming back, and the next day I get a call and I'm being let go. Sure puts a damper on things.

And though I probably should hold on to what money I have till I get unemployment benefits I went ahead and purchased a 60-day game card for World of Warcraft and Seasons one and two of Sliders. Anyone remember that show? I had purchased Seasons three and four (being sold in a discount bundle) but after reading up on the history of the show while watching the first three episodes of Season 1, I decided to return them well because I love how the first two seasons go but the last seasons go in a direction and end in a way that I don't think I wanna see. At least, not for the time being. That and well I don't think I should've spent $70 - I mean, $50 is no biggie, but I decided the other $20 should be held on to for food.

Anyways, I'm holding out that I may get a job soon - albeit part-time is the only thing available around where I live - but if things don't go well, I'm gonna have to get whatever resources I can get together, get a car, rent a trailer, and get out of this state. Yeah, interesting happenings, huh? :sadhope:

Very nice CreamCrazy! Glad to hear it :) You need to make a recording of yourself sometime so we all can hear! Escpecially if it's Green Day, heh.

Best of luck as you continue your progress :happyhope:

Oh no, I'm so sorry to here that Parlez. That has to be very rough. Things are definitely rough all around right now.

Well, you have the right idea: you have to remain positive about this whole thing. Positive thinking = positive outcomes. If you put as much effort as you can into finding a new job, something will turn up. There's a lot of people out there who think they can't make things happen for themselves simply because they're not willing to put enough effort into getting it.

Good luck, I mean that.

A couple more nifty Comic-Con piccies that I'm sure NOBODY here will have any trouble appreciating:

Posted Image

Posted Image

WAY too cool for any silly caption ;) (the other one can be found in the Hopetails thread, btw)

And here's a favorite I've been saving since I bought it at ye olde corner store around the time Tom was born:

Posted Image

The legends about the speed of Sergio's pen are true. It was two whole days later before my eyes caught up with the sketches he added with his autograph.

Also got another li'l nifty from the similarly legendary letterer (among other things), Stan Sakai:

Posted Image Posted Image

And on the right, an adorable little kitty by Jill Thompson!

NOW, BEHOLD:

Posted Image

If you haven't heard of Axe Cop yet, GO. READ IT NOW. Its legendary author and creator had far more important things to do than attending some silly convention, but artist Ethan Nicolle sketched some lovely monsters for me!

Posted Image Posted Image

Oh, hey... did I mention Aaron A & friends were there too?

Posted Image Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image Posted Image

(Don't listen to any of the crap people say about Jhonen. He was totally nice, and even apologized for marking up my Moleskine.)

Naturally I had to visit the StudioFoglio booth too:

Posted Image Posted Image

(as well as one more that's not QUITE suitable for work!)

And finally, Mssrs. Dirge and Daily each adorned this lovely print with an interpretation of the infamous "Bear With Two Butts", making for a grand total of A DOZEN CHEEKS ON ONE PAGE!

Posted Image

Finally, if you haven't checked out Kirby Krackle yet, GO! DO IT NOW! These guys totally deserve more exposure - whadd'y'all think it'd take to get "Teabagged" a mention in PVP? ;)

.......Alphatroll, you've won my jealousy. Congrats  ;)

(Seriously though, that is BEYOND awesome!)

Best part was, Aaron had to reference *his own book* while drawing Kelton.... I no longer need feel *any* shame for my difficulty in portraying him! ;)

Actually, hanging around the SLG booth was a pretty nice "decompression" chamber for when the crowds got overwhelming. And once I'd been chatting with Aaron, Drew and Jenny on and off for a few days, even Jhonen seemed used to having me around.

(Oh, and the car from Green Hornet there too, as well as full-sized Iron Man suits from the first movie in the Stan Winston Studios booth, but I'm not much of a shutterbug so Ecto-1 and Hit-Girl were the only things I thought to take pics of.)

Subey over at Bubblegum Noir got a real nice candid shot of Aaron (with Drew & Jhonen looking confused in the background) tho, hopefully she'll post it soon! (And you've GOTTA see the portraits she did of Aaron, Drew, and Dan Vado!)

Wait, that's the episode with Hugh Grant guest starring as her fiance right? In the end, she ended up not marrying him though :sadfaith:

This picture really has nothing to do with this comment, but I don't care :P

That one with Lisa's engagement was another episode that really tugged at the heartstrings and presented a sweet, endearing message.
