1. Inappropriate Content This site is rated PG (General audience) or rated E for everyone (even if Battlefield Heroes is not). This includes content in posts, titles, or names. They should be appropriate for readers/viewers of all ages. Inappropriate content can be described as: profanity, obscenity, insults, personal attacks, accusations, derogatory or defamatory comments, or other abusive or inappropriate content is not acceptable. 2. Using asterisks, characters, or alternative spelling to get around the word filter is considered to be the same thing as posting the actual profanity. When someone "starts" it or pushes you to post inappropriately, you will still be held responsible. Do not let other users trick you into breaking the rules; if you see someone post inappropriately, click the "Report to moderator" button! 3. On Topic Discussion If you would like to start a new topic, make sure that you put it in the correct area/forum section for your post. Otherwise it shall be hard to find. To correct this contact the Administrators/Moderators if you would like to move it, otherwise it shall be locked/moved/deleted. If you are replying to a thread, make sure that your reply contributes to the topic. Off topic posts can ruin any good thread, so try to stay on topic as best you can. 4. Spamming or Engage in Post wars Spamming includes posting the same post multiple times in a forum, repeatedly posting on the same topic in different threads, posting the same post in multiple forums, or posting repeatedly without actually contributing to a topic. Multiple posts, whether on the same boards or different boards, can and will be considered as Spam. Post it once, and post it nice, and please don't ever post it twice. Pick a forum, pick a message, and that's that. Don't post in every forum with the same message. We know from experience that some of you enjoy seeing your post count go up, but do not ever artificially inflate that number with meaningless posts, a post only containing emoticons, etc. We will reset your post count if this happens. 5. Thread Bumping Posting messages with irrelevant content for the sole purpose of keeping certain posts near the top is called "bumping". This causes other posts to scroll off the page faster than they should, and raises forum traffic unnecessarily. If your post is good, it'll be responded to. If it's responded to, it'll undergo the process we call Natural Bumping. Natural Bumping = good. Unnatural bumping = bad. Unnatural Bumping is where someone posts, "I'm adding this to put this thread back at the top." Do it, we slap your hand. Do it often and you lose your account. If you have a question or issue that is not being addressed, make sure you contact a moderator or staff member to assist you. 5. Do Not Flame. Flaming is the hostile and insulting interaction between two or more Internet users. This includes: asserting your authority, establishing a position of superiority over other users, to strongly hate the content of a post, and detest the individual to whom you're responding, please exercise restraint and post without flames. Your behavior is judged not just here, but elsewhere. If you slander or libel this site or the site staff on another website, forum, or by other public means, your membership at a heroes clan may be terminated without notice. Using asterisks, characters, or alternative spelling to get around the word filter is considered to be the same thing as posting the actual profanity as well. 6. Do Not Spoof or create multiple Accounts that resemble another poster. When creating a multiple or new Account for this forum, don't make up an account name specifically designed to resemble another poster. If an account is registered that could be confused (unintentionally) for a moderator or administrator, we reserve the right to offer the member the ability to help change the name into something else. We reserve the right to close the account if that offer isn't accepted. If you're banned for some reason, don't keep coming back with examples such as "Fred," "Fred the Undead" and "Fred Yet Again." If you were banned, take it like a reasonable person, and accept your faith. We ban the person not the account so registering under a new nickname will result in that account being banned too. If you wish, you may appeal the account closure to the staff. Don't make up additional accounts to respond to yourself in order to inflate your post count. 7. Do Not post about hacks and Cheats. Hacks/Cheats are 3rd party programs, which allow you to alter the way a player interacts with a game. 8. Personal Information Just dont do it 9. Advertising Any profitable organization advertisement that is posted on the forums without an Administrators approval shall immediately be removed by a moderator or Admin. We do not intend to serve as a linking service or a search engine to other sites. Links that wouldn't be allowed anywhere on the forums (including signatures, and location) would be to links to sites (commercial OR personal) that have: a. Pornographic, drug-related, racist or, illegal materials, including game cheats, videos or hacks b. Profit sites (any get rich quick sites). This is sites that earn the poster a profit/commission or sites that give points for incoming links c. Sites carrying ad-busting software The only exception for advertisements is when you have relevant news, fan site link, clan link, and anything related to Battlefield heroes. If you are in doubt, ask an Admin or moderator. 10. Alerting Posts/Threads If you see a post/message that you think is inappropriate or possibly in violation of the rules/Terms of Service, make sure that you use the "Report to Moderators" button. This will send a message about the post to our fellow Moderators/Administrators, who can remove/move/delete/lock posts which are necessary to keep our community safe and productive for everyone. Note: The "Report to Moderator" button is not there for your enjoyment, use it only if it is necessary. Thanks! 11. Private Messages All of the rules applies to PMs as well. Although you cannot alert them, you can copy and paste the content of a bad PM into a message and send it to a moderator or Administrator. This message will allow our staff to record the inappropriate content and take action against the sender as necessary. 12. A Heroes Clan and Battlefield Heroes BETA As a fan site it is our duty to help follow the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) set forth by QAboss. By posting illegal messages, videos, and images it is counted as a violation and shall be reported to QAboss. *this guidelines are taken form bfheroes.org |
