Nobody on this site loves the Kreuz as much as I do, but even I'll tell you that he's a deadset battler. Despite his mobility being his entire selling point as a junior, the sad truth is that nowadays Kreuz is slow as fuck by foot and with the ball in hand. His ruckwork is average at best and his contested marking has always been the biggest obstacle between him and being recognised as a genuinely good ruck. He runs underneath the ball then hyperextends his arms to make contact with the footy, genuinely makes 1/10 aerial contests a win for Carlton.

With all that being said, Zaharakis sucks too. Hope Michael Luxford works out for ya Gavinho.

I reckon Hartung might turn out to be the sleeper in the deal. Zaha probably has 4-5 years of decent vanilla mid scoring left in him, Hartung will probably reach a similar level but has 10 years of decent vanilla mid scoring left in him.

Plus Gav can confidently chuck the C on Kreuzer every time he plays Port, that campaigner always saves up his one good game for the year against us.

I'm not sure a sample size of 1 game works?

He scored 69 and 43 the previous two times.

Zaharakis is a pleb, but I still think I prefer him in this one.

I still have nightmares about him kicking 3 last quarter goals against us in his first year in 2008. IIRC Port were 5 goals up at 3 quarter time in that one and then went scoreless in Q4 to lose by two.

Based on a good game in both 2008 and 2016, I change my vote.

It's almost reversible now that my judgement is unclouded.
