Ellis-Yolmen is a huge upside, chances are will be a flop type imo.

Has some glimpses of superstardom, and bucket loads of crap.

Agree re: porps. If we look purely at 2013, his place in the 22 has to be questioned.
Not even sure what level of exposure he's had in vic and I don't know much about his influence in our nab cup games so I'm curious how you know much about him lol

@RLL - purely from a sc perspective MacKay not getting SD despite playing half of '12 and most of '13 as a half back and a direct opponent really fucking kills his value on here. His numbers haven't been huge as he's locking down every game now. I still think there's a little about him and I'd say you've seen it too lol.

As a mid-only for 2014, he doesn't have the "here and now" value but in my eyes that doesn't really matter. I don't think he's about to explode score wise this season, so you're already gonna be looking longer term with him and beyond this year he should have the def-eligibility that he deserves.

Lynch and Johnston still haven't shown anything to suggest they'll become established players, neither will imo.

Lynch is good in so many areas but great in so few, will be a champion state level player .

Yeah I'm not sure how a bloke averaging 18 touches, 7.4 marks, 2 tackles and 2 goals a game off a forward flank isn't an 'established player'

His disposal count is enough to justify a spot in the team IMO. Any higher and it's more like a midfielders numbers. Add on the fact that he's 8th in the league for marks per game, 3rd among forwards (behind roo and cloke) - and I'm sure most of these are around half forward. He finds space in the forward half of the ground and manages to get himself a shot at an uncontested kick into the forward 50. I'm sorry but really, as a supporter the only think I like more than seeing a bloke with an uncontested kick 65 metres out and the time to pinpoint a target is the bloke on the end of that kick lining up for goal.

I rate him as in my opinion there are very few players in the league better at finding space (and holding onto the grab) inside the forward 75 metres of the ground. Nick Riewoldt is definitely better and Cloke's not far behind but no matter how many touches he gets in a game, the fact that he's so exceptional at providing a safe target for the midfielders in a dangerous area is enough for me to consider him a lock as long as he continues to do so. The byproduct of his role essentially is half backs and midfielders not bombing it long to 50/50s where it inevitably goes to ground for the defensive team to mop it up and rebound 80% of the time.

Not only that but he's a goalscoring threat too. When he's not essentially linking the midfield with attack he's actually doing the attack's job too.

He might be good in so many areas, but he's 'so great' in one - and that's linking up. And linking up is the most underrated quality IMO.

Tom Lynch is in Adelaide's best 10 players
Jacobs should be dropped for McKernan
Wright is the 2nd best clearance player at the club
Brad Crouch was no good
David McKay was rated higher than Danger

Honestly Stife, your record on all things Adelaide is terrible.
Thought this needed to be reposted

I don't think Stife is as bad a judge of Adelaide and other talent as his comments sometimes suggest. He just has a habit of trying to say outlandish things and make ridiculous claims to make himself potentially look like a genius if one of them happens to come off.
Makes life on here entertaining, so for that Stife, we thank you.
Unfinished business.

Whether it's purposely to make outlandish statements or not, the fact remains he has a woeful track record of comments made about a club he claims to know intimately.

It also does nothing for his credibility to keep making said statements.

I will give you the entertainment factor, and if that's the angle he's targeting at the expense of common sense and credibility, then kudos to him.

They're memorable because they're stupid. 12-18 months ago you claimed that Dangerfield was overrated and not a good clearance player.

That might have been around the time you also claimed Petrenko or McKay or some other spud would be a better player than Patty Danger.

Danger is now the best clearance player in the side, elite by competition averages, and probably a top 5 player in the comp overall.

For all the hits you will go on and list in your next post, none of them will be as decisively good, as your misses have been decisively bad.

But let's hear them nonetheless.

...He finds space in the forward half of the ground...
I just wanted to highlight this bit, and point out that the 'space' he found in the Adelaide forward line is going to be filled with Taylor Walker, James Podsiadly and Eddie Betts. It's all well and good finding space when there is no one else there, but we'll see how he goes when he's no longer a focal point.
