So many picks and I don't rate Morton. If Richmond can draft well, they clearly win this trade.

I think we'll be seeing a few more of these trades by Spud in the coming days/weeks.

Probably worth the risk for Stoney IMO, Spud gets a decent price though.
Maybe a change of scenery for Cale in the off season??
Unfinished business.

Here's the logic from my end...

Cale Morton - averaged 80s + the past two seasons, but has been disappointing in a season where I was expecting a breakout.

I think I got him for a good price? Look at where those picks are situated.

AFFL 1st Rd (assuming bottom 4 get priorities for winning less than the required amount of games)
1 - 26

AFFL 2nd Rd
27 - 44

AFFL 3rd Rd
45 - 62

The two thirds I gave up were team's in the top 8 (albeit WCE 7th, and NM 8th) , meaning those are #53 and #54 overall.

The NM 4th is #71 or 72, and the Geelong 4th is even later.

For structural reasons this was a good trade by Spud enabling him to now squeeze Koby Stevens into his safeguarded 22, whilst getting a fair return for a player who has been overrated/under performed this season.

But from Geelong's end, I'm also pretty stoked with this deal - makes the 22 look that little bit stronger, which is the sole aim until post the GWS/GC draft, then I'll be looking to get a few good names in the Reserves also.

Good trade Spud, cheers mate.

Actually worked that out wrong.

1st rd - 1-24
2nd rd - 25 - 42
3rd rd - 43 - 60

Meaning picks are #51 (North), #52 (WCE), #69 (North 4th), and low 70s (Geel 4th)

morton i like for some dumb reason, and it has cost me dearly, as i too thought that 2011 was his breakout year.. but unfortunately it wasnt.. i should have traded him to cleishy last off season, for a significantly better offer than this..

but its got to the point where i have about 4 players im not prepared to lose for nothing sitting outside my safeguarded 22. So morton gets traded for picks, and now crameri moves in.
