Just thought I'd put this down in writing. - No longer are teams allowed to play a player in a position simply as cover or a last resort. That was voted against, and seen by the massive majority as a stupid idea and was therefore taken out of our game in order to improve it. - Any queries are now put before the Player Positions Panel. This panel was voted on, and now adjudicates on which positions players can play in. Any other questions/feedback etc. can be placed in this thread. Regards, The admin team. |

I'd like to make a proposal and this thread seems as appropriate as any. I'm of the opinion that if a panel member currently has one of the players that have been queried then they don't recieve a vote. The other four members will vote, and IF it is a 2-2 tie then a member of the admin panel will have the deciding vote. For me I reckon it gets rid of any conflict of interest. I'd just hate for a member to vote on way purely because they want to play that player there. Thoughts? |

Going to actually explain what you don't like about it, or just take pot shots from the sidelines? It's a hell of a lot easier to do the latter, and I didn't hear you coming up with any alternative systems during the extensive discussion about this. The way I see it, it's being used by coaches to clarify where they can play their players. What's wrong with that? You may see it as needless, but I wasn't 100% sure about playing Goddard as a forward flanker for example, and now that I've used the system I know I can. Sure we've had a little bit of controversy, but it's just a teething problem. We don't necessarily need all the five members on the same page, but if they're at least in the same chapter then it should be a big success. Obviously open to feedback and criticism, as long as both are constructive, so I look forward to hearing what you've got to say reignblack. |

1- No backup/cover - Don't like, or accept, but what can you do. If we want to run this site like a couple of kids in the playground then this is the way. If we want a legitimate competition then it's not. Don't bring things in mid season! 2- Like the panel. Good selection of coaches. Way to overused already, should only be used for extreme cases. We basically know where all players can go, just some like O'Brien, Clark, etc worth asking about. In reference to my earlier weeks posting about Mackie, i 100% support the decision that he can't be used as KPD as backup by the panel, but i think they should allow the likes of Clark, O'Brien and other likely cases! I agree with reignblack and other coaches who have raised concern. This is not what this site is about imo. |

Sorry to say Eddie, but it's the way it is so you're going to have to accept it, like it or not. |

Honestly if you guys want the site run professionally then pay up. Otherwise it will continue to be run the same way it is now - if there is a contentious issue arises the coaches will get the final say. I was with you eddie - i thought the last resort/ cover option was fine and voted accordingly. However, the vast majority of coaches didn't agree with you or me and so the rule was brought in. As for changing it mid season - you do have a point but with the amount of trades done on here it really isn't as big an issue as you're making it out to be. It's not like trading is stopped at the beginning of the season. Can only see it being a real issue for stubborn coaches who won't trade. Just back on the running of the game - if people want me to step aside as admin i'll happily do so. I try and do what's best for the site but accept that I'm not always correct. I don't agree with you saying that the game is taking a nasty turn for the worse but if people do then tell me and i'll go. |

Sick of people criticising how the game is run, without actually providing an alternative or any feedback. As I said to RB, it's bloody easy to sit back and take pot shots but it's guys like me, dtm, and in this case TFLUA, who are actually coming up with these ideas and trying to better our game. We had a clear problem before, and we're in the process of fixing that. In summary, pick a side. Stay and help out, or if you wanna just criticise then you're easily replaced. |

Pay up? Explain. If you recall i did offer to pay for better software and hosting. What else could be paid for? KP's are now even more valuable, and probably fewer. Players locked into certain positions, which they weren't traded in for. More likely we'll be seeing teams get a few zero's, for doing nothing wrong. Imo, your the best of the staff mate, would hate to see you step down. Always have a level head and try and see all points of view. |

haha i meant pay for me and rll to go on a management coarse or something so we could manage the site better. We are amateurs and that's what should be expected of us. I've just said this to rll but I'm really under the pump with uni today so am sorry if im coming off a bit rude but I really dont think its such a big issue in a game where you have to trade. No different to injuries in a sense and should affect all coaches reasonably evenly. Again, i don't agree with the no last resort ruling but most wantede it so we have to accept it. I don't really care about the timing either way but most wanted it now too before the issue got more out of control. |

Seriously, has the naming of players out of position been a BIG problem in this comp ? Majority rules, no prob with that however Personally heavily favour a relatively ambiguous (as it was) rather than pedantic (what it’s in serious danger of becoming) approach to player positions. That is all, its just a game. Edited by reignblack, May 20 2010, 02:49 PM.

I'd say never. On the odd occasion, coaches stated their reasons. Panel could help with that in future. |

We have a 38 page long thread, littered with arguments and abuse that says otherwise. |
