Very happy to get Cunnington - the final player from the 2009 national draft who i was really chasing. The future looks good!

McEvoy a tough loss. Will be a very, very good ruckman & had I not had Naitanui on the list, there's a good chance I wouldnt have done this trade.

Well done Armooo, cheers mate!

Yeah a real win-win trade IMO...

I wont be keeping it any secret that I will be using virtually all my draft picks on mids this year now that I've traded out my two best young mids :P

Yeah it was very hard to let Cunnington go, Stoney had been after him for a while.

But IMO McEvoy will peak at a 80-90 ppg player and Cunnington will at 90-100. But The fact that he is a ruck puts them pretty close to level for mine.

Nick Heyne will be an all or nothing player IMO, he will either be the next Steve Johnson or the next Charlie Gardiner but from what I've seen he's got enough potential to justify the trade, Brad Miller is a dud who I just didn't want on my list anyway. The pick upgrade was just another little sweetner that should see me have 4 picks in the top 30 already.

McEvoy will be a star, and Heyne... well really not that big of a fan to be honest - but as armooo said, has enough potential to justify taking a punt on him.

Basically, when I got the Geelong gig, I sat down and wrote down a list of 1o players I was willing to get at all costs, and Cunnington was one of them, so happy to get a deal done.

i agree we won (obviously, otherwise I wouldnt have accepted the deal).

but you people are obviously underrating Ben McEvoy who is a future star of the AFL.

Yeah agreed, he looks like he could be a real Dean Cox type ruckman (not as effective in the ruck) but he covers so much ground, is pretty agile, very good at ground level for his height and most importantly he is effective.

Give him a season or two to adjust to the speed of AFL and he will prosper.
