Confirmed. Really rate Johnston, but feel by depth is improved a bit more this way as Cook and Connors are duds. Hislop is close to a dud, but he'll at least get games. Atkinson looked pretty good at the end of last year and Smith has impressed in the NAB Cup with a couple of 60's and 70s scores so both will contribute this year.

And yes, Nick Maxwell is a pretty elite defender in this game.

Basically this trade was just to get rid of some young c graders and get a player who will eventually be an a grade player.

Connors has been delisted and Cook won't be far behind, so I just took them on board to get the deal don.

Jarrod Atkinson will be a pretty decent scorer, he's just that little bit too old for my team.

Tom Hislop is a dud, he might get a game but I don't think he will do much and he will have been delisted by the time I'm ready to challenge.

I really like Alistair Smith but I don't think he'll ever truly make it, especially at St Kilda.

He is behind Armitage, Geary, Peake, Eddy and they will all be challenging for the one spot.

I know Pie gives away the best player on potential, but I still believe he wins the trade. Atkinson developed into a very nice scorer last year and is basically a Lovett-Murray clone.

Hislop really is entering his make or break year, but he'll get games to prove himself either way, and Smith might have a little way to go to break into the Saints side, but he's got plenty of time on his side.
