Haha but stife hates everything I do so Meh ... Only players of value I gave up were riewoldt and shaw... And he's 29 this year... Rockliff top scored in the NAB game, Stratton I'll trade elsewhere, Joseph is a very likely type and walker is a very good player when fit. Big if obviously though

Melbourne confirm.

Very happy to get Thorp off my list, was deadwood. Also happy that Gilbee is gone. Since Harbrow emerged, it turned him into another average backline player who was also getting on in age. Stratton and Thomas were mid-late picks who could turn into something, but I couldn't be bothered waiting to find out. Walker is one I rate very highly, so I'm very sad to see him go.
From the players I'm gaining Clark was the main target. He is the perfect example of the new style ruckman. With him and Sandilands, I'll be fine for seasons to come now. Dalziell I'm hoping can return to his best form from '08 now with homesickness no longer an issue. Medhurst was injured for most of '09 and looked good in the NAB cup game so we'll see how he goes.

Oh and Stife, check the ages of the players that D2T is giving up. Short term pain, long term gain IMO.

Oh yeah reasoning, well ummmmmmm

I wanna challenge for the flag this year, and Shaw at 95 average is very handy. Gilbee fills in a gap at BP which allows me to move Rutten out of my best 22. Clark is a big loss but i'm confident Riewoldt will be a good replacement for him at FF.

Very happy with this deal.

Fremantle has done very well in the last few trades.
This game is very youth orientated, often to a ridiculous degree. I once saw a quote on BigFooty that seems to apply here sometimes. "Only on BF is it more important to be young than good."
That's why I was surprised that no one has challenged me for the premiership, or even really tried to. Once a player hits 27/28 their value declines massively, even though they're still scoring well and have a couple of good years left.
TBNB has picked up players in this age bracket in his past couple of trades, which has taken him from a probable top 8 team to a probable top four team.

Giving up 4 proven scorers, Hahn is on his way out but should still score ok this year.
For Joseph, who will always only be 50 -70(being generous) player,
Walker who is very average and way overated.
Rockliff, who may become a good player, but so far has had only one good game and
Stratton, who I don't rate and don't think will get any game time this year.

4 Proven scorers....Allllrighty then.

Shaw is a loss, but then again he is 29 this year....and won't score as well as last year....he will have the Mattner syndrome...great first year at the Swans but will drop back a bit the following.

Medhurst has had one good season in a 10 year career....and is in his twilight....nothing suggests he will be back to what he achieved in 08.

Riewoldt is a loss no doubt....but could never see him averaging anything over 85 over his career. 70 is his best season so far.

Hahn is on the way out...just like you said....so no point keeping him.

Joseph averaged 60 in his first year and played every game? Why would you say he can't do better than that? He won't remain a tagger his whole life. He will develop nicely.

Walker is an 85+ scorer when fit....lets hope that he gets some luck with injuries this season.

Rockliff you clearly don't know much about so I won't bore you too much with facts, but just know that he will get a lot more opportunities this year, and won't be a guy who will just be a stay at home forward, as his score of 142 in the NAB game suggests.

Stratton is a mature aged player at Hawthorn who you have written off after one game.....smart. Already have interest for him from Snappy so I'll probably end up trading him for another piece that I want.

All the players he gave up will score well this year. That's not up for debate. But their value is going massively down hill. And so that his team doesn't get to a point (like yours) where it's all older players that have little value and no one wants to trade for them.
Joseph has all the tools to become a very good player. Bit harsh to predict the rest of his career after just one season.
Have you ever looked at Andrew Walkers scores? To call him average is just plain stupidity and really shows your lack of knowledge when it comes to non-Richmond players.
Rockliff has proven that he can play, and that he can score well. You clearly know very little about him, ditto Stratton. And it's not all about the season coming up, little bit of forward planning never goes astray, but judging by your list you don't know about that.

You constantly talk about personal attacks, which that post of yours delves several times into attacks against my trading, knowledge and tactics. Not cool.

Have you ever looked at Walker's scores? When has he scored well?

D2T asked why I thought he lost the trade and I gave my reasons.

My team has finished top 4 in the 2 seasons I have had control and I think will be top 4 again this year.

Walker has not averaged 85 in 6 seasons and highly injury prone as you acknowledged in the SC thread.

Joseph, I think is a good player, but IMO will not become a high scoring player.

Rockliff I think will become a gun but after one impressive pre-season game I think you overpaid for him. IMO.

Stratton I am not writing off, I just believe in Hawthorns team he will have very limited opportunities.

Its not an attack against you as I believe you are a good trader and I appreciate you not attacking me as others have.

Disagreeing with your trading strategies etc. isn't a personal attack. It's a difference of opinion. Whether or not your team has finished top four in the past two years is irrelevant IMO. You've barely changed it in that time and your average age would be easily the highest in the league. That's an opinion, not an attack by the way.

2009
The same year he was coming back from major surgery.
Round 20: 101
2008
The same year he went on to average 81.
Round 22: 85
Round 20: 89
Round 19: 118
Round 18: 95

Add to that his continual improvement and something that he's barely had ... a pre-season! If he has a touch of luck, he'll be a 85+ scorer.

Total crap. Bringing my team into the discussion and snide remarks is typical of you. People then call you a wanker etc and then you say "hey no personal attacks" although it has been you has dropped snide remarks to rile them. I have changed the list a lot. There are plenty of teams who have made a lot less changes than me.

I don't care about average ages, I want players that will play and score well now.

Bringing up 5 scores above 80 hardly convinces me of Walkers ability either.
