The players/picks with value that Brisbane are actively looking to trade are: - Tim Kelly (took him at #20, Geelong is very bullish about him taking Motlops role) - Rhys Mathieson, shown great scoring potential this far in his career. Mid/sf - WCE 1st, Bris 1st. Two picks that will land in the top four IMO. The hype about this draft is real and justified. Rankine, Lukosius, Kings X 2, Walsh, Bytel, the list goes on. I’ll reiterate my comments in the shout box, in order for this to work opposition coaches need to avoid treating this as an excuse to make low ball offers. The intention of this is to let others know who you’re openly willing to trade for the right price. Post below with the blokes you’re looking to deal, not necessarily to me for those I’ve listed, just in general. Edited by boof, Jan 5 2018, 12:09 PM.

Geelong’s Reverse LOI - One (1) of Taylor Walker or Lance Franklin - both elite for KPFs, and I would be looking for multiple bits in return. - David Zaharakis - Justin Westhoff - Jordan Lewis - Kurt Tippett - Isaac Smith - Rhys Stanley - Dale Thomas (somewhat relevant as a ‘fwd’) - Stewart Crameri |

Love your work Boofa, I feel like there's a deal there with us but I probably need to chop my list around a little to get a few more blokes you'd be keen on. |

Essendon reverse LOI Jasper Pittard or Riley Bonner - Jasper nearly 80ppg this year and 90+ ppg the year before. Bonner has only played 4 games but has scored 74 or more points in every one of them, and if Ken has any sense he'll play ahead of Broadbent in 2018 after what he showed late in 2017. But I currently have three Port SD's which seems like too many, and I like Houston IRL too much to trade him, so it's one of these two. Taylor Duryea - Good SD/SF depth for teams who are intending to challenge for a flag this year, but I don't think I'm one of those teams Jayden Laverde - Really rate his talent but I'm trying to cut down on injury prone players One or two of Jon O'Rourke/Jacob Allison/Joe Atley/Willem Drew - After my last couple of months of drafting and trading I've basically got a complete midfield, I think I'd benefit more from similar players but in other positions Rich 3rd, Melb 3rd, Bris 4th, Haw 5th - I try not to use picks outside of the second round. |

Just a general site-wide observation.... The thing with trading that I’m struggling most with is how set teams are in specific directions. In days gone by, people would think are for ‘trade wins’, even if it meant deflecting slightly from the long term goal, with the idea that they can increase they’re team by trading for value wins, and then on trading those players for better players that fit your ‘direction’ These days all teams are locked into a specific window (contending, rebuilding, or what I’d term ‘next-in-line contending’ where teams are positioning themselves for the next window after Geelong, Carlton, Wbd oldies have retired etc). Contenders don’t trade in youth Rebuilders don’t trade in anyone over 25 Now that’s no bad, but when teams won’t even entertain the concept of slightly deviating (even if they consider it a ‘win’), that’s where trading stifles considerably. Because then all the rebuilders only trade amongst themselves. All the contenders only trade amongst themselves. And the NIL contenders stick to their “nobody over 27” direction at absolutely all costs. We can’t really force teams to deviate, but I think it needs to be said that you can actually make massive inroads to your specific direction if you take a sideways step to open up more options with other clubs. |

I think you're right Stoney, I think I'm a pretty good example of someone that's fallen into that too. I hereby declare that I'm happy to look at older players at the right price. Updated LOIs will be sent to coaches that actually engage in discussions in the near future. |

Oh me too man, I’ve defintelly fallen into contender mode. I’m literally waiting on one final response from Shabby on a potential deal, and if that falls tough, I’ve got something that might work for you boof. Hang tight. |

Looking for a forward pocket (to replace D Thomas in my best 22) if anyone has any SF tradeable. I’ve got a stack of mediocre ones - Daisey, Melksham, Crameri, Thomas, Mayne, Puopolo - don’t need anymore of those types! Looking for someone that would be considered semi decent, like a Bruest, Fasolo, Menzel types. |

So here's a surprise, it worked! Since making this thread I've completed the following: Mathieson, Kelly, Crozier, 3rd -> Out Fantasia, NM 1st, Matera -> In - I would have jumped at Matho for Fantasia straight last week - I also offered Kelly for NM 1st and was turned down quickly by Colbert - Crozier to Matera is a theoretical downgrade at this stage, I'd rather Crozier, but with both at new homes it would be beyond the realms of possibility to break even there. They've both had similar outputs in their careers Matera outscored Crozier by 14 last year. - I've chucked in a 3rd that will be about pick #40 So that's three trades, about 50 offers back and forth with these coaches and others and no trade being a clear 'win' for either party. Good solid deals that suited both. Thanks for the kick up the arse Stoney. |

Good work boof. Last few days have been great from an activity standpoint. Here’s my synopsis - Kelly was always someone of high interest, and was content to pay slight overs to get him. Reckon he’ll slot in nicely in the Cats 22 this year. Glad boof has turned a nice profit on his original investment. It proves that trading in player that don’t neccessrily fit your direction (I.e a rebuild), can still produce nice results. Get rid of the tunnel vision people! - I had been working the Buddy deal with Shab since before Christmas, so I was wary about trading Westhoff, Tippet & Franklin all within a couple of days - hence why I decided to trade Isaac Heeney (Riewoldt was surprisingly a huge part, because I knew that I would be offloading Buddy, and needed another good KPF) - Shabby knowingly lost the deal, but I tend to see a little where he was coming from - his 22 does “look” better with Buddy at FF. Even though his scoring takes a hit overall. Moving forward for me - I’d love to upgrade one of Birchall or Hodge in defence. - I need to acquire a back up key forward at some point. - And, I’m still open to potentially wheeling Zach Merrett in a 2-for-1 should the right deal present. Happy trading people! |

Definitely a nice piece of business boofa, undeniably a net gain for you. Personally still happier with the Westhoff/Crozier package over Kelly, obviously that'll look a little silly if Kelly comes in and stsrts smashing tonnes, but I'd still probably prefer a first rounder to him I still think both deals Stoney got done significantly weakened the other teams in the deal. |

Let's see if this can work for my rabble of a list as well: Reverse LOI: 5. 7. Sam Lloyd SF 9. Matthew Taberner KPF 11. 13. James Rose SF 15. Jesse Lonergan MID 18. Mason Redman DEF 20. Jack Leslie KPD 26. Michael Hartley KPD 28. Daniel Butler SF 31. Jordan Murdoch M/F Colbs, sorry for the flat refusal of your offer. Was a decent offer, but not worth pursuing where my list is at. Eski you gave me a valid reason for declining, that's totally fine. I'm talking about literal "nah" or "no thanks" responses, just a brick wall that gives me nothing to go off for future offers. |
