This is getting ridiculous.

Surely experienced coaches have a duty of care to the site not to pull crap like this on newbies.

Completely agree.

It's always a horrible look when you bring someone to the site, and proceed to absolutely destroy them in their first deal. Especially the case when you're an admin.

Poor trade, poor look, poor outcome.

Yeah this sits really poorly with me. Bringing someone to the site - and having them ignore every iota of advice given to them to shop around players and seek second opinions - before being raped by you, especially a newly appointed admin, is a terrible look.

Gav's throne has been seized :P

Personally, I'd like to see the two parties go back and re-work this trade into something a little more equitable.

I'm anticipating someone will raise the Hickey/Coniglio trade, but to me they're completely different. Hickey was coming off averaging 100+ in the JLT series and you could (at the very least) comprehend how someone might be inclined to overpay for a youngish ruck man if you were predicting a break out.

It still wasn't a good trade by any stretch, but if you squinted your eyes hard enough - you could kind've see the angle that F2G was coming from.

In this deal, there is no plausible explanation for why you could trade a SF who has gone 89 and 94 in their last two seasons for a mediocre KPD with a career high average in the 60s.

On that basis, this one requires a little more consideration.

At least that's my thoughts.

More than open to any other suggestions you may have Pindawg.

The problem isn't the source of new coaches. Any new coach from anywhere is going to have s learning curve. The problem is experienced coaches deliberately taking advantage of them.

They have claimed to have participated in many of these games and was on AFLM with plenty of these other coaches... That site must be worse then first though

Somebody get on the Phone to D2C

Half agree.

However, I don't think the problem is that we're splitting hairs over this trade based on AFFL valuations... i.e. it is foreseeable that a newbie comes from a previous site that values picks highly, and as a result - trades a gun for a 1st, not realising that we don't value picks that highly.

But this is just a deadest horror regardless of whether it's made on AFFL, AFML, LFL, Ultimate footy, SC draft league - you name it, it's a bad trade on any platform.

I had a brief PM chat with tigland after the trade. He seemed pretty happy to have picked up those two second rounders. Real life Josh Caddy was traded for one second rounder. I think there may have been an element of the bolded in this trade.

Yeah there is a steep learning curve here and always will be. This site has a unique value system that takes awhile to adapt to. Give him time fellas.

No fantasy site values late 2nds that highly, not even AFML

So does the trade stand? Lockout's in 7 hours so a decision has to be made.

I don't want to see trades 'reversed' unless it's blatant cheating - which this is not... However what we have done numerous times over the journey is send the two coaches back to the trade table to re-negotiate something a little more equitable.

In this instance, that has to happen IMO.

I would propose that if that happens before lockout, the two parties can use their newly acquired players this week, but if resolution has not been reached before lockout - then the players should remain with their original clubs until the trade has been revised.
