A huge price to pay for a ruck who's never averaged more than the 80s

A 23 year old coming off of an 105 average versus a 26 year old coming off of an 83 average.

Reversible IMO.

Reversible? Mmmm not sure. Favors Shabby for sure but then again ruckmen only start to come into their own about that age. Hickey showed signs last year, then again whether that translates into points is another thing.

I won't be voting for this to be reversed.

Not a trade that is less than 1 AFFL point per week difference (and a position upgrade).

Whoever invented this whole 'one AFFL point = 20 SC points' thing fucked everyone's perspective. It's still 22 points a game.

If I traded Patrick Dangerfield for an inanimate carbon rod, that's only a loss of 6 'AFFL points', but it's still 120-130 actual points.

Because 132 SuperCoach points/6 AFFL points is the same as 20 odd SuperCoach points/1 AFFL point ^o)

I suspect you wouldn't be quite as vocal if you didn't have a vested interest in this deal.

Yeah not sure the outrage, its simply a scoring system, is basically one and the same just presented differently

Never said it was the same thing, my point was that reducing a terrible trade to 'but it was only x AFFL points' doesn't actually make it any less of a terrible trade.

Re 'vested interest', yes I was in talks with F2G re Grundy, and I note that the only reason you know that I was in talks about Grundy is because when I got a bad offer from F2G I had a chat with an admin about it to discuss whether I would be unfair of me to continue with the talks, unlike Shabby who apparently couldn't post the offer made by a newbie shooting himself in the foot fast enough. But even if this deal is scrapped I'm not going to renew those talks. I'm not dumb or immoral enough to advocate for a deal to be reversed because a newbie coach is giving up too much for a ruckman and then renew talks with that newbie coach trying to get him to trade for my ruckman.

Coniglio at 23 years old is already a proven elite scorer. Hickey at 26 years old 'showed signs last year'. Carn.

No it was a bad trade for sure, and my analogy of AFFL ppg was purely my call (it's not an endorsed criteria for assessing trades)

But you called for it to be reversed. In the broader scheme, it's not a reversible deal.

I don't see how the site's newest coach who's yet to coach an AFFL game trading a 23 year old averaging 105 for a 26 year old averaging 83 isn't a reversible deal. What the hell would he have to do for it to be a reversible deal?

Coniglio was the 21st rated midfielder last year, Hickey the 9th rated ruckman on scores alone.

Yes there is an age gap but its not like Hickey is 30+. Hickey just reaching his prime as is Coniglio.

Hickey beat Gawn hands down in their two outings last year, whos to say he dosent go on to become the best ruckman in the game this year? Its a punt fadey is taking

I said the deal favors Shabby and i wouldnt personally do it but IMO its not reversible.

Everyone will apply a slightly different lense to reversals however I would reverse the deal if;
a- the ruckman didn't have any foreseeable upside
b- if there was no position difference (i.e. a mid avg 80s for a mid avg 100+)

Using my own experience, I have been trying to get a decent ruckman all off-season, and have had very little success.
Yet I could acquire a very good midfielder before lockout tonight.

Well, I dunno, apparently Stife and I are the only ones who think a 23 year old 105 ppg scorer for a 26 year old 83 ppg scorer is fine as long as there's a positional advantage. I'm preparing my Allen Christensen for Dylan Shiel offer as we speak.
