Hi all The AFL draft is this Friday evening. We then have a 3 day "window of opportunity" to get the AFFL draft completed, before the real life PSD and Rookie drafts. This makes it imperative that managers are contactable throughout the National Draft, so that we can get it knocked over this weekend. FAQS Q - Why do we need to get the National Draft completed before the real life PSD and Rookie drafts? A - Because a state-league gun getting picked as a mature-ager in the PSD or Rookie draft, will be a big advantage for teams with later picks in our National Draft. Q - Am I allowed to pick an undrafted player in the AFFL draft, in hope that he will be drafted in the real life PSD or Rookie drafts? A - Yes, punting on a mature-ager is allowed, and in some cases encouraged. If you've done the research, back your eye for talent. Q - What happens if the AFFL draft isn't completed by the time the PSD and Rookie drafts start? A - Only players drafted in the AFL National Draft will be available for selection after the commencement of the real life PSD or Rookie drafts. Q - What can I do to speed up the process? A - Send an active member (i.e. myself, Colby, gav) a preference list when you have an upcoming pick. Q - In today's age of technology, don't we have an App for the draft? A - Unfortunately no. But anyone is welcome to PM me with their mobile number, and I'll send you a text message when your next pick is approaching. Q - Stoney, you are a legend. A - That isn't a Question... but thank you. |

Also just FYI, don't send me preference lists this weekend as I'll be busy as fuck. I'll leave lists for my picks tho. |

We've never had a National Draft that didn't have a time limit. |

Those of you with early picks, would it be at all possible to kick off the draft a bit early (i.e. Friday morning) to widen the 'window of opportunity', or would you prefer to see who goes where before taking your picks? |

as stoney has mentioned earlier. there will be a few players who will jump up the affl ratings if they go to a club where they will likely get games next year. some coaches have traded a lot to get the early picks and they should be able to take full advantage of that pick. not being forced to take a player only for them to end up at a club where they will be unlikely to get a run. |
