For mine:

GWS 2017 1st for #17 (16) - Pick 16 in a middling draft for a likely top 10 pick in a touted superdraft? Even if I have to wait a year to cash it in, that's a win.

#18 (17) for Williams and #27 (25) - Some may disagree but I'd call that a win. I reckon you can throw a blanket over about the 15th to the 25th pick in this draft, and I really rate Williams. Ball magnet as a junior (once had 56 disposals in a game) but unlike a lot of junior ball magnets he's got the skills and composure to go with it. Should get plenty of opportunity across half back at the Dogs with Boyd, Murphy and Morris all on their last legs.

#24 (22) + GWS 3rd for #38 (35) + Ess 4th - Loss, obviously. Tried to get it done without the 2017 pick swap and with me receiving #33 instead of #38 but couldn't get it across the line. Still, it's a loss I'm happy to take to get the first two wins. And it's nice to have multiple picks in each of the first three rounds of the 2017 superdraft.

When did it become a superdraft?

When did it become a superdraft?
Bit of talk in the media about it, here's one example:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-09/bumper-draft-crop-for-2017-may-see-clubs-hold-their-picks

I'm no draft expert, so all I can do is go by what the draft experts tell me.

Literally every year it's next years draft pool that's the super draft. I'll take a whole extra year of development over marginally more talent any day.

I just like the fact that we've now reached a common understanding that a top 10 pick in 15 months time doesn't warrant a distinctly similar pick in 3 months time.

The person willing to take on the long term pick should always receive a good interest rate on their investment.

'Superdraft' or no, I definitely wouldn't be trading #17 this year for #17 next year, but on this year's form GWS first is likely to be top 10. That's a good return.
