I don't think I win the deal Pin, but I'm certainly happy with it. You've got to accept that picks that can't be used for 15 months aren't worth the same amount as current picks if you're looking to trade them out.

Dunkley looks an SC special and although Keays didn't exceed expectations this year I reckon he's gonna be a really good footballer.

The talk is that next year's draft is supposed to be a lot better than this one, so I'm not too bothered by bringing in 2017 picks over 2016 picks this year.

My favourite part of this trade is that I've turned Sam Gilbert into a top 10 pick in three moves. Gilbert -> Jordan Roughead, Roughead -> Dunkley, Dunkley -> #10 (which is really #9).

100%.

It's like complaining to a restaurant that they charged you above cost price for a meal.

You pay for service/convenience.

It's convenient to receive quality players 15 months before the draft.

The other key point for me is that I never wanted to rebuild forever. My argument with coaches who have taken 3-4 years is that it's not really necessary in this game. I feel that I've already gone through the same percentage of the process in one year that others have taken far longer to do through heaps of trading.
Brisbane will be heading back up the ladder from here on in and if I get it right, far more rapidly than is commonly accepted.
Unfinished business.

Note: After consulting the draft picks thread, turns out Dono traded out #24 to me after he'd already traded it to WAG. But he also has #26, so I'll agree to take #26 instead of #24 in the previous deal, and boof has kindly agreed to do the same in this deal.

Essendon receive Bris 2017 1st + Bris 2017 2nd + #10 + #19
Brisbane receive Josh Dunkley + Ben Keays + #23 + #26

That changes everything, it's now borderline reversible...

In fairness his list was up to date. It was just that the negotiations took so long that the picks he had at the end weren't the same as the picks he had at the start and I didn't re-check before posting the deal.
