7th Fleet Rules and Policies The Administration reserves the right to change, add, or modify any of the rules and policies stated below. All new additions will be in a different color text from standard. These are general guidelines to keep a smooth operation of the fleet, all situations are subject to overriding of these rules if Administration sees it is needed. If there are any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding these, please feel free to contact Starfleet Command by email or PM on the forums. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Membership Policies: This is for all new members who would like to know what to do to join. All members should be registered to both the SMS site and the forum site. They must register with their full character name (first and last). Link to SMS Site: http://www.7thfleetrpg.com (The join button on the right under the “Main” menu) Link to forums: http://s2.invisionfree.com/7thfleetrpg When registering on the SMS site and filling out the biography, all that is required to send it in is the basic information. Note: Player information can only be seen by Administration. It will not be given out if you do not wish. If you do not feel comfortable giving your real name you may simply put in your character name. - When filling out the initial character information. The only boxes we ask that you fill in are: First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Species, Gender, Age, Position (please refer to the manifest to make sure it is not already filled), and Player Experience. We would like you to fill in as much as possible though so if you can write out the rest immediately it'll save you time later when we request a little more background to your character. When registering to the forums you must register with your characters first and last name. If you have any troubles with this or need a character name change you may contact an Administrator and they will assist you. After you have registered at both locations, you may continue on to your academy training where you will follow the instructions given to you. If no one responds to you within a couple days PM Headmaster Jamie Anderson. Link to Academy Report In: http://z2.invisionfree.com/7thFleetRPG/index.php?showtopic=1360&st=0last Academy Policies: Anyone has the chance to be an instructor if they so wish. If they have an interest in becoming one, they must contact the Academy Headmaster to discuss your eligibility. If you feel the decision needs to be appealed contact the Administration and it will be discussed. After appeal if you are still denied, you may reapply after three months when you feel you have worked through whatever issues we had. Everyone must go through academy unless otherwise cleared by Administration. If the member feels he/she does not need to go through much training, they may give a sample post in their designated thread that will be gone over and discussed by their instructor. Overall, the instructor controls the length of time in the academy unless the cadet feels they need more help. Biographies will be briefly discussed to assess if you need any help with it. However, a full biography is not required to being posting on their assigned ship. Academy ranks have no standing anywhere except within the Academy. If you are an instructor, your rank only applies there. Anyone caught abusing their power will be dealt with individually. Officer Conduct Follow the Chain of Command whenever possible. Be respectful to fellow officers. Do not attack fellow officers. (If you are caught breaking this rule, you will be dealt with by administration. All outcomes will be handled individually.) Don't be afraid to ask questions or for help. Posting Policies Please post at least once a week. We recommend more, but minimum is once per week. If you are unable to make this please request either light duty or loa. Light Duty: Allows you to post when you can but no longer than two weeks between each post. LOA: Leave of Absence under 2 months ELOA: Extended Leave of Absence is the inability to post for over two months. If you need ELOA you must speak with Administration and they'll work something out with you. Notes: - If you take a leave of absence, you automatically include all of your PC characters. LOA is for those who will have no ability to post. If you post for any of your characters IC or OOC, you automatically remove yourself from LOA. If you will be able to post please put yourself on Light Duty only. - Don't bother posting an LOA for yourself if you're only going to be gone for a few days. You may leave a message on your ships OOC board informing your crewmates of your inability to post for a few days, but those few days do not require an LOA. Posts must be at least two paragraphs long or of any decent length. Use character development, dialog, officer's logs, etc to lengthen your post. If all else fails, go to your Ship Commanding Officer and ask for ideas. Note: If any one-liner posts are found, you will be contacted via PM and asked to lengthen it. If there is no response of any kind (changing the post or a PM back asking for help) the post will be deleted. Interact with other crewmates as much as you can. Get to know who you're working with. Use each others strengths and weaknesses to enhance the mission. NO GODMODDING. Anyone caught will be sent a PM asking them to alter their post. If post is not altered, it will be deleted. Repeated violations will be dealt with by Administration. Use your OOC ship forums to develop the current mission or discuss the upcoming mission. Do not post only an OOC comment on the IC Mission thread. And try to limit your comments in the mission thread. Please try to post them in the Mission OOC Thread. Chain of Command for 7th Fleet OOC Chain of Command: The OOC chain of command is designated for all issues in out-of-character scenarios no matter what they may be. Start at the bottom and work your way up if problems persist. Fleet Command Group and Commander in Chief Ship/Starbase Commanding Officer If you can't work out a problem with your CO please directly come and see the Owners/Fleet Command. We will find a way to sort the issue. But do attempt to work it out with your CO first unless you feel uncomfortable doing so. IC Chain of Command: The IC Chain of Command is designated for all issues for in-character scenarios. Once more, you start at the bottom and work your way up. It is important not to deviate unless previously given permission by your superior officer to do so. Commanding Officer Executive Officer Second Officer (If one is not designated move on to the next level.) Department Heads (By RANK) All other officers by RANK. The rank structure will often determine the final decisions. However, should a Deputy Head of the Department outrank another Department’s Chief, the department chief has the authority. Miscellaneous You may only have one character per ship at this time. This is not a democracy. While we will accept suggestions and comments and will put certain things to a vote, the final decision rests with the owners. |
