Good morning Rebs, how is everyone?

It's a bright start in Torquay, possibly the calm before the storm with heavy rain forecast

For clarity I mean the babies - not that you need a nappy - well actually :)

My daughter is ok. Try this for a closing comment though:

'They are all in 4 * hotels in Beijing and the food is supposed to be really good'

You'd think she'd be thankful she didn't have the god damned virus. Kids!!!

Thanks for the thoughts though. How are you Whitworth?

Glad to hear she's ok Tone.

Scouseone's just informed me that the lass she sits next to at work is off today with it - looks like I'll be Billy Nomates this Saturday at ER then (still it means the stewards won't be coming near me to tell me to sit down!)

A lot of people are now been given Tamiflu without being tested.
So even if someone has been given the drugs and told to stay at home, they may not necessarily have the flu.

We are getting so many calls because people only have a sore throat and a headache!
But to be fair that is the guidance!

A couple of wednesdays back I went into work feeling a bit rough, within 20 mintues of getting there (25 mile, 1 hour drive)
I wished I hadn't so went home.
It was a hot sunny day and when I got home I put 4 layers of clothes on and got into bed. By lunchtime all my joints ached, it was very difficult to move I had a mild headache and no appetite. That evening I was overheating, spent most of the time in bed. Woke Thursday feeling a bit better and was pretty much over it Thursday eve. Went to work Friday feeling tired but OK. Although I didn't eat anything (drank plenty of tea) until Saturday eve!
To me that was a bad cold, I haven't felt that bad in years.
But flu puts you in bed for a week because you are too weak to get out!
And it takes even the young and fit 7 to 10 days to get thier energy back.
Thankfully I've never had flu or anything even close.
How many of the people being dished out the mediation have actually got swine flu?

The figures today say that 700 people have died worldwide.
Most winters we lose 10k + to common flu.
Why aren't more precautions taken every winter?

Because 'Common Flu' doesn't sound as sexy in the headlines as some animal derived illness.

I think I'm coming down with Tiger-Flu - either that or I had a dodgy pint lastnight...

I think I had Stella-flu last weekend - mind you it could be swine-flu as I had some pork scratchings?

My 4 year old niece was given it last week. She took one dose vomited voil;ently and refused to take any more. My sister said it made her more ill than the flu. Anyway, my niece was right as rain 24 hours later.
Now Ww jr 1 thinks she may have it, although she's probably just run down as I've hardly seen her since we got back from France.

Morning all btw. Hope everyone is well.

Good Morning / Afternoon fellow Rebels from the overcast and gloomy Trinidad. Hope the weather is good in London for the next 2 weeks.

There has been quite a few cases here in the small Island of Trinidad, but have managed to stay Flu free so far. Knowing my luck I will catch it while I am in UK for 2 weeks break.
