So instead of sulking, I was thinking about next season and winning this darn division.

Who do we think will stay/leave?
Who do we NEED to stay?
Who do we think will want to leave?

Names that are bound to be mentioned (by the media) -

Delph - It'd be a shame, but if we get a silly offer could go.
Beckford - He seems to think he's better than he is (less so since Grayson came in though) and so might go.

Hope we can sign Sodje.

Not sure who of the rest would be targeted by other clubs, but the whole of the team lastnight I would want to keep. What are contract situations like?

We need to keep Sodje and having a fit again Huntington would be nice as well, key thing is to keep Snodgrass he is gonna be top notch for us if we can hold onto him

If he doesn't want to stay, we can say "Sod Ya!"

The thing about Beckford is he is frustrating at time but he does score the goals. He's one of the best at this level but I can see a newly promoted Prem side splashing the cash on him. So long as we don't replace him with a Liam Dickinson type, then we could get two decent strikers in his place and they could end up with the same amount of goal between them.

Delph, he's clearly got a lot of potential but he's not as consistently amazing as we are led to believe (says the ex season ticket holder).

I say if we can get a substantial pot for both then we should let them go so long as Grayson can buy well to replace them with four decent players.

The good news is KB has found the cash for the TV licence, so there's going to be a big telly to watch if the football on the pitch is crap.

We need to keep Beckford at all costs. I'm sorry, but an off game here and there means f-all in the grand scheme. The man scored 34 goals this year in about as many games. It's all well and good saying we will get two strikers in his place, but that rarely works out. If you have a proven goalscorer then KEEP HIM!

Last night the fans were on his back from about 2 minutes in. They were having a go at him for not winning balls when he had absolutely no chance.

I'm not sure why people keep saying he thinks he is better than he is. In the interviews i've seen he comes across fairly grounded for a player of his talent.

We need a new keeper, and a RB,Sodje will sign methinks,Delph will go to a premiershite club and warm the bench all season,Becks will go as he thinks he is better than Leeds, and he has no bottle on the big occasions, that pen would have taken us to Wembley....

Snoddy will stay

Becchio will stay

Get Freedman back...lol

I think Beckford will stay and Delph. The reason being that Beckford knows he's a big fish in a little pond and wouldn't be able to handle being a little fish, and delph wants to learn more before being lured (just my opinion).

I hope Sodje stays. I sadly agree about the keeper situation.

I think there will be a lot of interest for Beckford, Snodgrass and Delph but hope we keep them all obviously. If Beckford does stay the coaches need to work on his first touch because it's fucking terrible at times. Someone mentioned on another thread about playing to his strengths which means playing the ball for him to run onto and I agree with that. If someone comes in with silly money for Delph we should take it but I'd hate to lose Snodgrass who for me has been a fantastic signing and could play at the highest level in a couple more years, hopefully with us.

i think i'd be most gutted if snoddy went. he's been top notch since grayson came in, and when he has a good day, beckford scores for fun.

becchio might well get lured by someone in the top half of the championship, but i can't see anyone wanting beckford sadly, as he's proved that he just hasn't got a big game temprament.....got to remember too that this is fabianos first season and he's still very very raw.

this is a big close season for us now. if we can keep the squad together (and buy sam sodje some new knees) its going to be a very very good season ahead.

Thats very positive for you Kirst , if and a big if we can sign Sodje and keep most of the current squad we should breeze the division.
Please don't quote this in a year if we balls it up :lolanimate:

I don't want to but i have to agree with Col - Think Beckford and Delph will stay (hopefully). Think we need a a new keeper - one that can command his 6 yard area a must!! as well as the defence in front of him. A good right back would be nice - sorry Kirst he may have a body to die for but Richardson has not improve since the days of the prem, i would of expected him to be one that shines as he has had big league experience and still he seems to be a me to be a average player in an average league. The rest of the team will do fine and with wins comes confidence so lets hope we hit the ground running at the start of the season.
