Hey Tone, I usually use this.. http://www.myp2p.eu/competition.php?competitionid=&part=sports&discipline=football Just click the game when it appears on the list tomorrow, the little tv icon with an arrow on it, then there will be a list of sites that are showing it. I generaly just go down the list on the ones which say Media Player, and then you dont have to download any additional software to play it, but you can download SopCast and some of the other players pretty quickly if none of the links work for you. Some streams are quicker than others, so just have a mess about until you find what works best. You can watch loads of things through that site so its worth a bookmark. |

:) no problem, i've watched a fair bit of football, rugby, boxing, american football through there, I can only think of once when I havent been able to watch a game but i think it had more to do with my awful net connection than the links themselves... thats Hull and KC for you though.. |

Out of interest Charlotte how long do you have left at Uni and what are you doing? What are you planning to do (if you haven't already left)? |

I'm in Hull after a bit of a mess up in my A Level year, and i've about 4 weeks left of my undergrad degree in English Literature. I have however, signed my life away for another year, doing a Masters in Medieval to Early Modern Literature and History, so thats 1300-1600, covering all from Chaucer to Shakespeare. Its gives the option to do history modules as well which I'm really interested in. Afterwards... i'm not really sure! half the reason i'm staying on is to make a decision about a career. I'd love to teach, but my parents arent so keen. I know its my life but if they like what i'm doing its a tad more favourable for ease of lifestyle... if you see what I mean! So, we'll just have t wait and see... Its gone so fast, I dont want to leave quite yet! |

Have you tried a book called 'Tales of the Decamoron' it dates to pre Chaucer and they reckon that is what he based his Canterbury Tales on. It's where 10 people go off into the Italian mountains to avoid the plague and each has to tell 10 stories. The tales they tell form the backbone of most of the folklore and morals that we have today. You can buy an abridged version too. Good luck on the finals, don't stress yourself out too much. T |

LiveOnlineFooty is another good link Tone...you have to pay for it and download their player but it is always excellent quality...last leg cost me £3.30 but the streaming on some of the other links was so bad, it was worth paying!! |

cheers Tony, i will have a look for that over the summer. Strangely, I'm ridiculously calm... I think its a kind of insane calm though, I'm a bit too laid back about the whole thing and would rather work all day and night the day before for an assignment, than spending weeks planning, structuring.. its not the best way, but it works for! Its the early Modern suff that I like best 1500-1600 so I think I'll be doinga dissertation on somehing like, Revenge Tragedy or Jacobean drama but you ned a Medieval background knowledge to know how and why these texts are the way they are. A bit dull for the neutral but I love it! |

I think it's very interesting. As one famous fellow said 'You have to know your history before you can plan for the future' The tales of the Decamoran take influences from the Muslims, Christians, Greeks etc. So it was happening then just as you'll do the early stuff for the 1500-1600. There's also a book you might have come across which a bit of an anthology of the history of English Literature. A huge volume but good read. I think it's published by Oxford press. I have it at home. |
