Three years since I last frequented this board I think. I changed jobs and went tee total and fagless. Extreme I know but it worked for me. Thought that now I am in Delhi (been here a few months) I would try to catch up with you all. My new name as you can see is Delhi White, obviously relating to my current location. Having been in several guises previously, but mostly Whiteman. I hope you'll forgive me for not keeping in touch but I had a lot to sort out. I am now engaged and all is well. Boys are ok and my eldest has had trials for Leeds Utd and Huddersfield (no surprises its Leeds if he gets a choice). They have a very complex recruiting procedure for kids at Leeds. Didn't know it was that onerous.

How is everyone else. I hope this finds you well and here's to a bit of posting.................

Blimey Tony, glad to hear that you've been sorting yourself out and that your boys are doing well.
No picture though so obviously time hasn't been on your side for these last three years :booty:

It's good to have you back Tone.
Glad you are well, and good luck to the boys. It would be great to have a player or 2 amongst our ranks.
Sadly, I think our son has more of a rugby player's build, but we shall see.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a bit of a hard slog but finally got it done. Having a right old time here in Delhi. Traffic is unbelievable, makes the M25 look like the highland roads. It is a complete free for all. Luckily here to build some of the Metro, they need it. It is very hot, we are just out of a mini heatwave where the centre of Delhi reached 50C. You have to take short breaths and walk very slow.

Luckily have a driver to take me round. Still in Serviced apartment but getting a flat once this initial stage is over. If anyone is ever coming over here then give me a shout will supply bed and food and show you the ropes.

Getting engaged to the girl I was with anyway. William is trialling for Goalkeeper no less. Hope he ends up better than the shower we have now in England. We don't pressure him though it's up to him. He's playing for Garforth (but stopping next season) and Collingham who have a much better set up.

Shame to miss all the excitement of the play offs. It would have been a joy. I know we didn't play too well on Saturday but 1-0 is not unachievable.

If anyone wants tickets for games at Wembley for any game they can contact me on here. I can sell them at £50 per head. They are in the corporate section but a seat is a seat and the retail value for those games works out at £179 each so really it is a bit of a bargain. England v Andorra is next isn't it or have I missed that one. We generally only get to see Prem games here which means, Skerm U, the scousers and Chelski in general. Oh and IPL Cricket which I am overdosing on.

Will continue to thread from now on in......Great to hear from everyone. T

Superb to hear all is well Tone, from Swansea to Delhi, and a big well done on both the Engagement and the T/Total, you went through a rough time so takes a big man to do what you have. Glad the boys are well, im still paying the phychiatrist, hope William catches a football better than i catch a beer mat. Very strict love to all.

Daz, thanks for that mate. How are you keeping? Hope all is good. Have you had any 'Ups and downs' as they say. I hope not mate you're a good 'un (Well I hope you've had ups obvously). Will certainly can make a spectacular save from the easiest back pass. But he'll learn, He's coming on. Yea Swansea was my Nadir in life as they say. Delhi is great and you don't have tarts asking if they can shag you. Unlike Swansea. Mind you at my age that will certainly not happen again. Flattering when it happens but just wish I could remember it. Had to be told that by a mate. lol. FUBAR was my middle name. Now it's just Robert. Drink Lemon tea and Ginger Tea with bags of water in between. How it's changed. Look forward to keeping in touch with everyone now. Had to make the break just to get a breather. Ended up in therapy with a SA doctor who was top notch. Taught me all about avoiding a drink and doing something else. As they say the rest is history.......... hopefully!!

Now I know who you are Ton, we met very brefly and glad hear all is well with you.

You could not have picked a better city in India, loads of people say Mumbai, but Delhi has so much to see, it is just unbeleivable. Having spent 2 full years working there I still want to go back.

The metro is really one of the wonders for the city of that size. Where abouts are you getting your Flat ?? If you need any knowledge of the place and places to go etc. Feel free to ask, as I think I know the place pretty well now. Himanyu's toumb is one of the better monuements, along with The Red Fort. If you get a chance go and see the Akshardham Temple in North Delhi. It is Mind Blowing peice of Architecture.

Nice to hear from you mate.

Namastay Aks. Apkee Krypa hai. Dhanyavhad. It has certainly been a long time and I hope you don't mind me trying out a bit of Hindi on you. How are you keeping ok? You are right about Delhi (although the traffic is mayhem) it has so much going for it. I am hoping to move up to Nizmuddin, Vasant Kunj or Defence quarter in July so it will be in central town. CP is thronging every night and the restaurants are bliss.

That is perfect mate, really good. All three places you mentioned are fine and good to get around. Traffic as you say is mayhem, but after a little while you get used to it and everyday there is something new to ponder about on the roads.
Try to get a visit to the Gurgaon Main strip, as it hasd some really up market Shopping malls, TGI, etc. worth a visit.

Forgot to mention I am currently working in Trinidad, so much further away from you.

Just to add, there is a small reastaurant called Splash, it is on a road from CP going towards the Railway Station, it does not look anything special but the Food is some of the best we had in CP.

Yes so I hear, Gurgaon has all the mainstream corporates such as Microsoft, it's a bit far at the moment we are really busy and only have a Sunday off (isn't that the Indian way?) So we have a lot to do. Our office is in Noida in UP just over the river so we have a bit of a commute to see the client in Bharakumba road and the General Consultant is in Ashoka Road so that is equally as long a trek.

Been to the Red Fort, Humayans Tomb, Rajghat and India Gate which is very special to me being in the Army and all that. Look at my picture in my profile. Remind you of anywhere?

Aks I'll be sure to give it a whirl. Only have 2 years so I'm sure we'll be there. I'll mention it to the lads. How is Trinidad? My other half spent some time out in the Windies and that was where she was for a few weeks. She loved it.

The Himanyu's toumb is one of my Fav, as less Tourst go there it makes it ver quite and very peaceful.
If you are in Noida, I beleive Akshardham Temple is in the same vasinity, next door to the sight for Commonweath Games Village.
Trinidad is good, have been here for 6 weeks now and am expected to be here for a full year, am also working 6 days a week. Climate is perfect 30+ all year around can't be bad. But enjoying it..
\Have a good one mate, must be about 10.00pm there now ??

Indeed Akshardam is very close and the Village is coming along a treat. They just extended the metro over the river this weekend and it will be into Sector 16 Noida by the end of September. Things are moving on at pace. You wouldn't recognize IGI at the moment. The new terminal and master plan is well into construction.

I think the traffic is okay out there, haven't they got a metro system in place now? If not, then they should really think about getting one, would help the traffic.

No need to crash mate, missus and nipper still in the house in Ealing. I'll give you the nod when I next get home. Have to go to Thailand first but will be home in early or late summer.

Great news for you BTW chuffed for you.

Mind you soggy nappies and perpetual puking I'm glad I'm approaching 50. Got it easy.

Yes Fitz, I remember it well. Leeds games were one of the things I can remember and the people who were there. It's the rest of my life that became a mystery. :hmm:

Stories will be short from India for the time being. Being worked like a dog and only have one day off. That is normally spent for the first half in bed.

Mind you off to Agra for the Taj Mahal in a couple of weeks. That's a full day trip. Need it to rain if I go apparently???? Seems the marble is too bright in 50C temperatures and photos don't work that well.
