This is how the RD500YPVS would look if it were still made today
Carrying on from my rant over the England footy team I reckon that we should put forward a Team GB for the Olympics in 2012 and sod the premiership players, the only players that should be chosen should be from the lower leagues so how about choosing a squad made up from Championship and below players..... including of course the lower Scottish leagues and the LoW's.

F*ck the premiership I say as they dont give a stuff about England.

It appears to be getting the frosty treatment from the Associations of the Celtic nations, in one respect i see their argument, however i dont see how Wales can be against it when their biggest clubs play in the English league, double standards, or is that me being racist? As long as assurances are given by the governing bodies, stating that involvement in future tournaments would not be affected as singular nations, then i see no reason why we should not have a GB olympic team, i think there should also be rules on certain amounts from each country being selected.

Good idea.

There are always some decent young players lurking in the lower leagues that are looking to get noticed. An Olypic gold medal would certainly help.

Don't bother with the professionals at all, like the tennis players their hearts won't be in it, and they'll have no break during the close season to speak of.

We used to have a representative side at semi professional level. They would play as if their lives depended upon it. I wouldn't care about not winning so long as the performance was hard working and honest.

Bear in mind that the squad is made up of 23 and unders with three over age players. That means that only players that are 18 now would make up the majority of the squad. Who fits the bill at the moment? English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish?
