Deflected Beckford shot really.
We had about 80% of possession but gave away some sloppy goals again. A lot of long range desperate efforts in the second half but we really should have won it. They sat back and soaked up most of our pressure. We played some good football at times but lacked that bit of extra quality in the last third. On another day we'd have given them a right caning.

We played some lovely passing football, unfortunately you dont hurt teams when its all done in your own half, we need to maintain the same type of game but move the ball faster, oh and forward. We watched the same time barring 2 from Tuesday night, TBH we played some similar stuff, we were crying out for a bit of width today. Changes finally happened and we obviously pegged it back. Think Delph played well again but personally i would now leave him out for a few games, put him on the bench.

You don't hear this often from me but thought Richardson had a decent game today, he still needs to use his strengths of going fwd and getting wide down the right, when he did we looked different especially with Snodgrass on the opposite side. Just need better quality of ball into middle at times.

Felt Delph had an excellent second half, and was good to see for most of the game we were in there faces, closing them down in the fianl third of the pitch rather then letting them come on to us.

Overall agree with what has been said, good performance but lacked that bit of enterprise and quality in the finall third to finish of a pretty poor Bristol side (IMHO)

Macca needs to make his mind up who are his first 11 and then he needs to stick with them. There doesnt seem to be any stability to the team and if we dont get it soon, we will be too far behind the top two to recover. We cant let Leicester get too far in front.

we're four games in.

if we still don't know the first eleven at xmas then we can start to panic.

really irritated me yesterday when the team was booed off at half time. the expectation this season is far far too high. we WONT win every game. we WONT have as good a start to this season as we did last. but come may we won't be in the position we're in now. however, mindless booing does not help. especially the two wankers in the NEL yesterday who cheered at bradley johnson's subsitution.

grr makes me cross.

Tossers dont understand the game Kirst. I tried not to be too critical as we did play good football, just not penitrating enough in their half, overall im pleased with what im watching, of course i would prefer all results to go our way, however i live in the real world. We have no devine right to beat anyone, as long as the players remember that we will be ok. They cant afford to turn up every week expecting to roll over teams in a canter, main problem is majority attending ER dont see it that way, hence they act like knobs, yep they pay their money but FFS people whilst at the groung get behind the players, they are not seasoned internationals who dont give a damn what fans think, they are poorer relations both financially and in level of ability, they know when they fuck up, dont need 20,000 idiots getting on their backs, they will just turn into shrinking violets.

I agree with you Kirst. Expectations ARE too high, but that is made worse by the fact that performances are far below what we know they can do. Regardless of expectations, it has been a very below average start to the season. I wont say it has been a poor start because it hasnt, but it should have been better. You look at the teams we have played so far and we should have more points than we do....Regardless of expectations....

The players need to step up and be counted....

And I agree, the booing is well out of order and is just counter productive.

i think we're pretty lucky where we sit that we don't have to put up with those kind of morons, well apart from Mad Bob, but hey.....we've lived with him for the last 10 years ffs...Macca is trying hard to find the team that is going to take us to the top, and for once we have a manager who is not afraid to experiment to find that, as opposed to a manager who just chucks players on the pitch in the hope that they might actually g*l.....we're very close to finding that team, but its still good to see that there will be competition for most places too.
Let's just get behind Macca and the team and stop whining ffs.....the season is barely a month old!!!

May be no consolation to anyone but lets face it, we have more points than at this time last season. Even if we have won fewer matches.

I agree with most points one of the problems i fear we have is we cannot handle the amount of pressure that we and the country put ourselves under..Take our wembley matches expectations are high then we freeze ,we have been made red hot favs to go up and i think that the pressure will get to us again..Look at the Palace game no pressure because we where the under dogs so players can relax and just play ...I may be wrong but thats just my opinion for what its worth.......

I heard a couple cheer as well. That was my only gripe about Macca's selections on Saturday though as Johnson is not a left back. He is an attacking left midfielder and the poor lad obviously got frustrated playing at LB and so resorted to a couple of long range shots that were ineffective. I don't know why Parker didn't play but I was half expecting to read this morning that he had left the club as Macca doesn't seem to want to play him???

Slightly off topic, but Rovers fans are the only ones I have ever had trouble with. Got threatened by one on the train coming back from Leeds last season. Got threatened by another one in the pub at Temple Meads on Saturday, the dickhead even managed to upset a 60-70y old City fan I was chatting to. No class. Yeovil fans were quite friendly though, don't think its a West Country thing.

Leeds fans are hillarious.

Had people around me shouting to 'Get if Forward' everytime we had the ball, then as soon as a long pass was attempted (usually going out of play) they were shouting to 'stop hoofing'.

Kilkenny was getting loads of abuse for having the cheek to actually look after the ball and try to keep possession, while Lucas was being held accountable for the entire defence daydreaming for Bristol's second goal. Johnson got abuse for 'not trying' despite being clearly unfit. Some idiots even booed the team off at full time, despite a pretty decent display. We could and should have won, and the team looked ten times better than they did against Oldham. If Snodgrass/Robinson had started instead of Hughes, I think we'd have won comfortably as we'd have had more options, in the end we were a little too narrow.

Also, the number of muppets who yelled 'backpass' when the defender sliced the ball up in the air really did make me think nobody in the kop understands football, or has even seen it before.

Best fans in the world? bollox.
