I'm still in hock from Bolt's 200m WR run today. Amazing stuff, can't believe the record has gone. Johnson's 400m time should be broken in the next couple of years too.

Still, any thoughts on what could be considered Britains best games ever?

You had to sell your stuff to watch him run? That's a bit severe

It is at times like this you really want Headingley to be around :lolanimate: . Beating the Aussies, French and Germans all in one games, almost too good to be true.

What I can't believe is that he Ran the 100m in 9.69 and on that basis the 200m should have been slower then 19.38 as the shorter run you put all your energy in to it. But to go 19.3 for 200m was awesome. It shows that he can go faster still at 100m. I expect to see him break that again soon.

I think the 200m is always quicker than 2x100m as there is only one start. I imagine Bolt will reserve a faster run for one of those Grand Prix meetings where he'll get a couple of million for breaking the record.

Was that in the same quote as the only reason we won anything is cos we're good at sitting down? Therefore cycling and rowing are sports we're bound to be good at?

p.s. i hope Bolt doesn't get done for doping as he's gone on record that he's asked for more tests to prove he's clean.

And they say Brits are bitter when we lose!

and I loved their dig about them being better than us at every sport we taught them!

I am loving the Olympics though, its great to see so many British athletes doing so well. Was great to see Danvers take Bronze, a dreadful year, barely made the team, expected to win nothing, and hits a personal best and takes Bronze.

But I admire the dedication and determination of all the athletes. To commit yourself to the schedules they do always amazes me. Speaking as someone who has definite motivation issues I wish I had even a quarter of their motivation. Very proud to see anyone using what they have and excelling in it as far as they can.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when the Oympics finishes. I've watched loads of the early morning stuff live (thanks Archie!) and we've had it on the i-player at work every day too. I'm amazed at the success of the British team this year. I really hope the funding doesn't start to dry up after 2012. We call ourselves Great Britain, it's about time we did something to justify it.

Just watching the relay races, what a mess. The change overs are a disaster, USA out of mens and women, GB out of mens, women through

What was the last bloke in our 4x100m doing? Went off very early - nice of Marlon Devonish to say they all take responsibility though.

Women messed up on the relay now too, damn!!! What a cruel loss though, not just letting yourself down but 3 other people when you mess up

You'd be dissapointed, as apart from Cricket, occasionally Rugby, and Football when it suits (3-1 in your cup final!), I pretty much have no alegience to the country of my birth. I only follow australia in the above sports because I used to watch them with my Grandad in Australia. Any previous posting to the contrary was just me arguing for the sake of it.

I'm delighted with the British effort in these Olympics btw.

Mate, i'm so impressed with the US this time round. Finally realised they need to get their act together and work as a TEAM! The Argentina game will be amazing for sure, can't wait!

Usain Bolt is a legend. I really wish the Americans had made the 4x100m final to at least put some sort of pressure on though, it was far too easy.
