I think it's about time this club worked hard at changing the way we are perceived. Being unpopular gets you feck all. See where it has got us in thirty odd years. |

I fucking love it that people hate us. It's all the sweeter when we do well. We're going up through the playoffs and that'll be amazing. I didn't like it when people had us as their '2nd team' 7/8 years ago. Felt wrong to me. |

When O'Leary was boss the media portrayed us everyone's second team. Yeah right, we've been hated since the late 60's, hated even more (by the FA) when Revie left the England job even though it had nowt to do with Leeds, hated even more in the 70's for daring to beat Arsenal in 72, gloated at (even now) for getting beat by Sunderland in 73, hated even more in the 80's for having violent fans even though a lot of other teams were worse and hated in the 90's for daring to get promoted and winning the top prize inside 2 years. We're hated and I fucking love it because it means other fans/teams actually care enough to hate us. Swansea? Doncaster? yeah I bet the teams in the Chumps are wanking themselves dry at the prospect of playing them next season!!!!!! Wembley here we come. |

utter rubbish, we're not liked because of actions of supporters in the past and various other things that may or may not have happened. People might not like Leeds any great deal more cos Bates is around but the hatred we have against us is not solely down to Bates. Apologies if you mean that because Bates is chairman that's why we got points deducted, but that's rubbish too if you read the arbitration decision. |

Yes this is what I meant. The original post seemed to be suggesting to me that the points were docked because we are Leeds United No it is because of our chairmans original decision to put the club into admin and subsequent failure to obtain the CVA. Explain how you think Bates is not at fault here |

I'm not saying he's blameless, however i am saying he's done some good things as well. He could have gone into admin before he did. Could've not even bought the club. Bates had an offer accepted by CVA - not his fault HMRC queried it and challenged it. Should Bates (or anyone for that matter) throw money down the drain to run a club that has no money? KPMG accepted the offer without a CVA - not Bates. Bates also stopped us being relegated again to League 2 by asking and getting the -15 instead. Seems strange that people forget we're in the playoffs and are the first club to possibly go up after points deduction. I DON'T think Bates is innocent in all this, i do think the FL have vented past vendettas on Leeds, i also think it's a fucking shambles on both sides of the argument. Neither side has come up with an increase in credibility. |

On the basis the man threatened to close the club unless creditors (the fans with 20yr st's) voted for him to sell the club to himself! "Ken Bates has warned creditors owed money by Leeds United that he is prepared to put the club into liquidation unless they support his plans to buy the club back from the administrator at a meeting at Elland Road today." If someone was to threaten to kill a friend, i wouldn't like them on the basis that they didn't go through with the threat. |

What exactly was the club supposed to run on? you keep going on about the money wasted on this appeal. This season we bought more players than most other clubs in this league, would you have preferred that money to be spent servicing an already unmanageable debt? Money was being lost at the same rate as before with a much lower income. Where should the money have been spent? Players or debt? |

As our wise old Swiss sage once said "Bates is a bastard but he's our bastard" What's done is done and all the 'what ifs' and 'might haves' aren't worth a wank. Like Cuppy says we're in the play-offs so let's hope we go up and he sells to someone with a few quid. I know he's said he won't sell but he also said he'd fold the club. Never say never. |

I don't care where the money was spent, as long as it was put into benefiting the team - either financially or on the pitch, as opposed to pissing it up against the proverbial appeal wall. That couple of million (allegedly) can have gone a long way to easing any financial problems, but then we'll never know where we stand in terms of finances because we've being spun lies since day one. Of course we've spent more money than most in this league, but then we've got the biggest income so it matches up. I aren't saying that like some idiots on waccoe we should have a huge Bates out protest tomorrow, like Rich says we've got the playoffs to focus on and hopefully we can bring back the siege mentality we had at the start of the season. Hopefully summer will see us in a new league with a new chairman, and Ken can continue his personal battles from Monaco. |

Right, scenario for you, Last season Leeds continue to service the debt without going into admin, we get relegated anyway and we start League one with the same start as everyone else. We have no money for players cos it's being used to sort our debt out. Therefore we struggle in league one as we had to sell all the crap we had kicking around from before. We don't get to playoffs or if we do we end up losing or fluking it, still with the debt remember. We either stay where we are with a lower debt but still no money or we go up and make a dent in our debt a bit more, but still no money and probs get relegated again. OR They use the money saved by going into admin and we end up with the points deduction, we have more money available and we find ourselves where we are because money has been spent on players (like you want) while still trying to get those points we agree (??) should be ours. Which looks better? And yes i know football doesn't always work like that, but it's quite likely. |

Some people want to have a Bates out campaign tomorrow? Fuck me that's unbelievable!!!! why don't they go the whole hog and blame Beckford for not scoring every chance he gets and Kandol for not laying off every ball for him to score those goals. Or why don't they have a go at Bradley Johnson for not being the next Lee Bowyer or Howson for not quite having the passing ability of McAllister. 'IF' we get to Wembley why don't they cheer on the other team???? Don't read any further ladies...........................some of our fans are Cee U Next TuesdayS! |

Before people carry on with the anti Bates tirade I ask you to look at the Wrexham situation. The football League helped a rougue owner who deliberaty refused to pay the taxman. He was using the rules of the FL to try and get Wrexham out of the league and then the only course of action was to sell the £9 million ground. It took a court case to prove that he was not rightful owner of all the shares and therefore was not in overall control. If it wasn't for the wrexham fans fighting this in court nobody would have known. He was overthrown and replaced with 2 new owners, local businessmen who were knigh in shining armour. They sacked Dennis Smith (who kept Wrexham in the league with 16 professional players) and instead of employing Fergys son, who was an idol with the Wrexham fans they saved money by giving the job to an injured centre half who still had 2 years left on his contract. He was out of his depth. It seems the 2 knights put no money into the club, but were going to redevelop the ground which would include 100 flats. One of the knights sold his business for £24 million, and has said he would match the Wrexham trusts investment of £300,000 but the wrexham trust will not be offered any shares as it will take any profits from th re-developement. Wrexham are in the Blue Square Premiership next year after 80 years in the FL. Better the devil you know. Bates might have devious policies, but at least we know that. Another fact was that a former owner of Wrexham had said he would only sell for the good of Wrexham. He sold it to the rougue owner (hamilton was his name) and had a stand named after him, but it has been claimed that the said former owner had a clause in the sale of the club that meant he would receive £1 million when the sale of the Racecourse ground went through. The stand now has a different name. Crooked the lot of them. We just know with ours. |

Similar situation here at York.....So will echo EU's words. Maybe not to the extrent, however last two owners of YCFC, Craig and Bachelor(yep the twat who wants Mansfield and will change name to Harchester United) stiffed York royaly, hence they also ply their trade in Blue Square Premiership, alas so do Mansfield now.. Bachelor openly discusses how much he made out of York and does not care two hoots about the club or its Supporters(ok maybe neither does Bates), even changed York City FC to York City Soccer Club. With Bates you know what you are getting. |
