Going back to the pups, hows everyones peeing coming along? Bit worried about Berrycakes, shes peeing so much, and large amounts too, am sure its not normal. Taking her to the vets tomorrow to get it checked. Maybe am just overly worrying about nothing

6 times a day according to the vet for Sam. We have bought a small flat bottomed boat to get around the utility. We are watching out for him getting ready to "go", then grabbing him and putting him in the garden. Most people reckon its the best way to house train them.

Shes gone about 10 times today already, maybe more. Urinary infections are quite common so best to get her checked out. Least she goes on the paper when shes in the house which is good. And yep, my puppy for dummies book agrees with your theory lol

Spent ages cooking tea, Berry decides to do her "business", she likes to pick mealtimes, puts me tea down to go tend to her, Ian lets her out, she eats my tea, the rest now in the bin.....there's got to be more to life than this?

Cook the dog for tea, job done!
No pooing just before meal times and no dog eating your dinner whilst cleaning up said poos.

Dont thank me now........

Best of luck!

Maddie gets her booster on Monday, so a week after that she gets her freedom. I can't wait to be honest, springer spaniels shouldn't be kept inside too much. She has been seeing her sister at the other end of Frome most days which has been tiring her out nicely. How many other dogs will Berry get to meet?

Well she'll be meeting 4, though might break her in with just two initially, will see how she goes. Now she can go out proper I am hoping to run into Wilsons best mate Teddy. They use to play all the time till Wilson got poorly, but be nice for Berry to have someone to play with on the park out back.

Good to hear that cuppy.

Maddie is doing really well. She seems to have got the hang of not peeing every time she gets spoken to and seems content to lie around by herself for long-ish periods. I have dog-proofed the back garden (yet more expense) so she can wander round there for a bit as well. She has a lovely nature. Off to the vets for the booster tomorrow.

Funny enough we only have a yard with high fences and its surprising how much damage she can cause lol Puppys come in all characters and according to my book we have a "Rebel Rouser" lol. Maddie sounds lovely. Berry is too intelligent for her own good, you can see her thinking, plotting, her little brain on hyper overload. Love her to bits though, and she keeps me busy which is good for me really.

Try moving the paper outside - if you place her food outside as well it might entice her.

My two are going for their boosters tonight - Oh deep joy!, have to take them in to the vets 1 at a time otherwise they take over the place!

Well its been a bit cold, she prefers laying under the radiator, cant think where shes got this neshness from

I do know what you mean about the vets though, Wilson was a nightmare. He HATED it, and wasnt great with other dogs so double the nightmare. Was a definate two person job to take him, and he'd be panting and whining and trying to get out. No fun for him or us. But god I miss the fella still

Maddie keeps moving for photos, so here she is forced to pose and not liking it particularly. She has had her booster and she can go out from Saturday, so I am looking forward to that. Really pleased with her so far, she has settled down really well. She hasn't peed on any carpets or furnishings in a long time!

The quiet ones are always the worst!

Last nights visit to the vets was a nightmare - took them both in the car and let them in to the vets 1 at a time. Lacy is the more "loud" of the pair so thought I'd get her treated first and get it over with, warned the vet that she's a bit aggressive and did he want to muzzle her. She seemed ok so he never bothered until he came to look in her ears when I put the muzzle on just in case - no problem, very subdued. Took Molly the "placid" one in - stood her on the table, very timid, crouched down and shaking - vet takes a step forward and she shows him full set of fangs!. Muzzle straight on from the start of the treatment - she left him a little "present" on the table before she left as well.

Took them with scouseone last night but I've got to take them on my own in 2 weeks time - can't wait for the joys to come!
