Lewis on his way to Derby.

He's never good enough for the prem! He wasn't good enough at Fulham a few years back and he ain't got any better.

That's what i was thinking, an awful signing from Billy Davies who obviously resorts back to his days at Preston again. Derby have an awful squad and their signings have been woeful, preparing for the championship already.

Good luck to Eddie though.

Doesn't often mean much though does it? The Derby deal isn't finalised yet either. Clapham might not be signed in time for to make the squad, so they might give Lewis another game so they don't leave themselves short, but Flo wasn't in the squad for Tranmere, yet ended up coming off the bench.

Not trying to undermine your scoop, but there's nothing on the OS about it and they have been fairly open about people leaving up to now.

Fair point with Flo.

One month deals seem a bit strange ..at the end of the season ok but at the start not sure but he may have something up his rather small sleeves :lolanimate:

No didn't take it as if you were trying to undermine it mate, it's certainly not a definate and so far is just reported on local news in Stoke, as they were after him as well. He's one of the higher paid players at the club, so i think he'll go, and Derby seems the likely destination.

As for the one month loan deal, it makes sense in my opinion. You aren't stuck with players you don't want then, and you can always sign them up for longer once you've seen how good they are.

I can see your point of view regarding months loan but it also smacks of desperation ...try him if he is no good get rid get another try him no good get rid to me i dont see how you can get a settled side if he keeps bringing in players to lokk at after all they then have to play every week for him, to decide..

But would you rather we signed him on a short term deal and could get rid of him if we found the right person to either buy, a better loan signing or indeed if he got injured or wasn't up to scratch? I'm not sure what the financial implications are if you send someone on a years loan back after a couple of weeks, but i'd guess you'd have to pay his wages to some extent, as you can't just terminate a contract.

Also we only get a certain amount of long term loans per season, i think it's limited to 4, with 8 "short term" loan deals allowed, so you've also got to consider the quota, and Wise might have players he does want to bring in on long term deals.

I don't think its desperation. it buys us time until the end of the transfer window and gives us cover in an area where we are short of players.

I'd expect us to use all of our available long term loans this season, so would expect at least 4 more players in before september.

Aye. Stupid move from Leeds, Lewis, and Derby. I really don't see who gains from this.
