I remember sat in Taps on the night that photo was taken (although i could be wrong). It was his first meet up and he didn't really know anyone, so he was basically lurking in the corner on his own. I walked over feeling a bit sorry for him as he seemed a bit left out, and he started talking to me about some scientific theories or something...

Safe to say it was a riveting night!

you should have a screening process of future members i think, it's the safe way of avoiding such mishaps! Perhaps an induction session could be held in Bates Bar pre-match for every new member? I'm sure we could entail fitty and foxy into helping

For the record I've never met Litebulb but always respected him as a poster on here. Its a shame on his first meet he was left to lurk in a corner, I always thought the rebels greeted everyone and tried to include them. Not everyone can be the centre of attention or funny, some people take a lot longer to get to know, sometimes when you are a regular part of things and are part of these friendships on a regular basis, you forget what its like for someone new to come along. I know Litebulb surfaces on here once in a while and I hope he knows that not everyone makes judgements so quickly, and should he read this you made me laugh a fair few times on here mate.

In fairness matess, he wasn't left to lurk in a corner, we tried to include him in our chats, and as stubbsy and tony have said they struck up a conversation with him, but he had little in common with us....poor lad didn't know anything about football, and none of us knew about what it was he did for a living/hobby....it was very hard going.

Sometimes it is hard going, but if he made the effort to go then that was a start. Football isnt the only common ground we all have. Am just not sure it would be nice for him to read is all matess, but thats just my view.

That's not entirely true - see my pic on my profile. He's a nice guy and I think he enjoyed his night.
