I'm setting off at about 9am as I don't now how long it'll take to get up there. I'll probably go blow some cash in the club shop, then head to Billy's Bar for a fanta or two.

The AA says 3 and a half hours, I wasn't sure how busy it'd be either.

Plus I don't have a supercar like you do honey ;)

With the amount of traffic jams around our country I too would start at 9.00.

Just a warning if travelling up the M1.

There is a long streach of the motorway which is being widened at the moment. a friend of mine travelled on it and said the Tail Back was about 25 Miles. Make sure you allow a little extra Time.

there's a bit of roadieworkies between jct 29 ish and jct 31 ish just south of sheffield (i think) - its all 50mph limits but it shouldn't be too bad on a sat. bit of a nightmare at rush hour like.

Might not suit everyone, but I have been using the A1 instead of the M1 this year. If you nip around the M25 to the M11 (stay with me) go up there to Cambridge, pick up the A14 to Peterborough and then stay on the A1 upto the M62 then along to the M621, it is a remarkably clear route. Hardly any roadworks, and comparitively little traffic. There are average speed cameras along the A14 (all dual carriageway) but apart from that there are maybe four on the A1. For those of you worried about roundabouts slowing you down, there are just five of them between the M25/M11 junction and Elland Road.

well we didn't at the wigan game, but perhaps they didn't include that being a friendly

Exactly right. i used it a couple of tinmes last season and had to show my members card. I didn't have any of the kids with me though. Might be worth giving them a call.

alternative plan...

Ring whoever is already there, get them to come out with some cards, use them and get in...

I have my yellow members card from last year too, so if someone wants to try it to get in the bar then let me know.

Cheer up, i've gotta song...

A new era dawns
Long time overdue
Men they call Dennis and Gus
Will make our dreams come true
And a city cries out
To the new kids in town
When they put on the white
The rivals in sight
We'll capture the crown

So here we go again
We're marching on together again
United we stand
The best team in the land
