Just finished reading the Batty Autobiogrpahy...enjoyed it. Strange attitude to football off the pitch though. Has absolutely no interest in the game off the pitch, not even the matches he played in and was substituted in.

Now then, whats next...choices choices

Low budget British movie, made for Film4. Along the lines of "I spit on your grave" or "Deathwish" but based around Yorkshire (Maybe Derbyshire). Brilliant acting by Paddy Considine, it really ratchets up the tension from the beginning. Not gory or overly brutal, just very well done.
Shot in 3 weeks, available from play.com for £6 at the moment, which to me, is a bit of a bargain.
Really enjoyed it, and will certainly watch again.

Seen that a few times Fitz and I think its superb. My sisters mentally handicapped so anything involving films about people with learning difficulties and cruelty really hits home. Could just relate so much to the brother, and the hatred he felt. The acting was superb, the tension very gripping and was in tears at the end.

Very moving film. As you say, its not overly gory, and for me one of the best british films I have seen.

10 out of 10 from me

Can see why the temper would rise after hearing something like that happening to a loved one, who can't defend themselves. Chilling performance in the lead, and apparently the lad who played Anthony only got the part the day before. Shot all his scenes in the last week. Astounding really when you look at the quality of the whole production.

I would recommend either

Byzantium: Apogee v. 1,2,3 - John Julius Norwich

or

Totally 100 Per Cent Unofficial "Backstreet Boys" Special (Annuals)

Watched Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension) again, to see was it as good second time. It was, I must say. Gore up there on the "Saw" scale though..... :lolanimate:

Saw half of Toolbox Murders recently, I think the latest from Tobe Hooper. Alright in a slasher kind of way. www.imdb.com is a good place to start searching for horror movie ideas. A lot of these suggest alternatives in the forums, which may not be big screen movies. For example an alternative (or copy would be closer) to Hostel is "Turistas"(I think), a Brazilian movie.

Would they not be a bit too similar?
