Looking at the poll results it's clear everyone has a bit of blind optimism! We've had many games this season where we've said we need to get something from the game, and unfortunately the players haven't performed. It's games like this where i wish we had Blackwell, because he could take us away from home and grind out a result. Wise doesn't seem to have that ability, i think (can't be arsed to look) we've drawn 5 games all season, and although Blackwell drew a lot of games that we should have won, particularly at home, you always fancied his team to come out, give it 100%, get stuck in and grind out a result. At times we even played some decent football away using the 4-5-1 formation, for example Plymouth away where we were superb.

I've seen it too many times this season, but i've voted for a Leeds defeat. Southend have kept two clean sheets in the last 3 games, and not lost in any of them games. They're on form, but so are we, having only conceded 4 in 5. So it should be a close game but i don't think we have the quality upfront to score goals.

Southend 2 - 0 Leeds

Are you having a laugh?

With Blackwell we lost at Rotherham, Brighton (twice), Gillingham, Crewe, and just about every other bag of shite team we played.

compared to 5 draws all season we did quite well away from home. Yeah Blackwell had his fair share of shite results, but compared to this season, he is a messiah.

Well with the exception of the opening 2 matches of the season, this is the first time we go into a league game on the back of 2 league matches undefeated!! So lets hope there is some confidence there. Worrys are that Southend are now out the bottom 3 and so will cling on to that for all they are worth, time to spoil things for em. And if Ipswich and Leicester would care to perform today please.

Thats one of the things concerning me, we are still relying on other results. We do need to take care of our own business(q MDF)first then worry about others, i agree with all you say though Caz.

Maybe if Blackwell had taken pre-season seriously we wouldn't be in a situation like this in the first place.

Messiah? My arse. 90% of this mess is his fault.

A draw which will suit me. Just need to start wonning a few home games.

As a team we've improved, we just need a bit more confidence in ourselves now.

Looks like Wise may want to play on the break today with Kandol up front - just hope we don't sit too deep and let them play on to us.
