Has anyone got any Good picks for this years festival? The only horse who I can see as a banker bet is Well Chief in the Champion Chase as after its win at Newbury there really arent any question marks about him as he's in good form and has plenty of good form around Cheltenham. 7/4 Isnt a massive price but I honestly think he should be odds on. Does anyone else have what they think is a good bet? Maybe The Irish amongst us may know of a horse worth backing that those of us this side of the Irish Channel havent maybe heard that much of yet and so is overpriced? |

Not sure the going will be heavy given the current weather forecast. Good/good to soft is more likely on the round course, soft on the cross country. Personally I fancy Granit Jack tomorrow as a reasonably priced chance, also Rambling Minster. Most of my other selections would be pretty short priced though I think Brave Inca must be in with a strong shout now Ruby has taken the ride |

Can I just point out what an absolute shambles Detroit City was. Apparently £6million was bet on him in total, and he ran a shocker. Was been kicked on and pushed very early on and he just didnt respond. And he cost me approx £65 coz he buggered my accy right up! :lolanimate: |

He seemed to lose his bit at the first and then bothered after that. Still, as said before (can't remember who) - the bookies will make money as per usual |

Yep he ran an absolute shocker. Think it shows what a few people were saying to me that he isnt really a 2 mile hurdler. Think it will be chasing for him next season or maybe the glue factory. |

he hit too mnay hurdles and the ground didn't suit him meaning he looked in big trouble right from the off, i at least value for me bet on hardy eustace wh ran a decent race and kept in interesting for a long while but the winner just had too much in the tank for them all. |

Anyone win or lose much on the first day then? I was £32 down, but Gaspara came in for me in the last. Ended up -£7, so an acceptable loss, but still a bloody loss. Any sports gamblers, think about Shane Bond for top wicket taker in the World Cup. He's 7/4 (I think) and will take the piss against Canada, and I expect him to be in at least double figures after other games against England and Kenya. Best ODI bowler in the world when fit, and has gentle support from Franklin/Gillespie. Might be a bit short, but I like the bet. Then again, I tipped us for the playoffs this year... :lolanimate: |

I don't think the ground was a problem he goes on pretty much anything but firm and it certainly wasnt that today. I think it shows that he is definitely not a 2 miler over hurdles as he just doesnt travel well enough when they do actually go at a decent gallop. |

Bond is a good bet but Tait should also be in the mix if fit. Pitches look like taking spin too so someone like Murali might be a pick. No bets for me today as working and not got access to anything! |

£5 down from backing my 3 selections each way. Was absolutely gutted when Heltornic fell as I couldnt see her finishing out of the top 4 from the position she was in at that point. |

joes edge that's the boy, think it might be even more thanthat as i had a ton on that galapo boyyo to cut me losses from missing out on my way de solzon and hardy eustace losing, might leave it at that for tomorrow unless i see something that takes my eye, as many a fine filly has done before. |

Tait will be sharing wickets with Johnson, Bracken et al, and Murali will only have what Vaas has left him though. Bond is my pick coz his support isnt going to pick up as many wickets as the other teams. |

I can see your point if it was a test but good trams very rarely don't finish their 50 overs. Probably all depends on the crappy games and as he's injury prone he might not play??? |

Well, Dom d'Orgeval let me down big time, recovered after backing Denman in the same race though, when nickname pulled out and I realised the ground was going to be in his favour. Came up £10.67 in all, so plus £3.67 overall :lolanimate: |
