if you view the player you get an option to promote them. But be careful, they don't like getting promoted too early and can just refuse and walk away from the club...I lost a good defender like that. The longer they have been in your acadamy and the older they are the better. |

It didnt work Cupster....I clicked on the name in the Youth Academy tab, but there was no option to promote. Do you have to wait for a certain amount of time? I only signed them last week. When is best, regardless of development, to ensure that they sign for your club? I have a defender in my academy who is better than any of my other players and I want to keep him! lol |

Hello mate. They have to be in there for 21 days before you can promote them. If you look at the threads in the IAG forums you will see that there is a lot of debate around at the mo. A lot of people have lost VERY good youth players from their academy. What happens is, you promote them, and they refuse your offer (they just fook off basically). So you are a hundred and odd grand down from buying them basically. The consensus seems to be buy 16-18 year olds and leave them in there full term. If you sign a 17 year old to the academy, they will automatically be promoted to the first team when they reach 18 (you don't have to do anything). But this doesn't mean that they will accept the offer. I have already had one who declined and disappeared. Very frustrating. In short, I only buy high rated (over 80) 17 year olds, wait until they turn 18 and see if they accept or not. It's a bit of a lottery but there you go. BTW a 90 rated youth will become 13 rated when he goes into the first team. |
